The Paschal Triduum During this special week we are invited to join in prayer at each of the liturgies of the Triduum - celebrating the central mystery of our faith: the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ. Holy Thursday: We gather this evening to enter the Triduum, to glory in the cross. Lift high the Cross In the scriptures we hear three stories: the Passover Meal, Paul s account of the Lord s Supper, and the washing of the feet. While this Mass is very much about that historic meal, it is equally about the new commandment to love one another as He has loved us, about which we sing as feet are humbly washed. After communion the procession of the Blessed Sacrament takes place to the altar of repose and we are invited to spend time in prayer. Good Friday: The celebration of the Lord s Passion. Because this event won salvation for sinners, the day is called Good, and the liturgy reflects on love as much as loss. Today s liturgy has three main parts: the Liturgy of the Word which includes the Passion according to Saint John and the solemn intercessions, the Veneration of the Cross, and Holy Communion. As a faithful people, we reverently express ourselves in gratitude to the one who saves and set us free. Easter Vigil: The Easter Vigil is the most important Eucharist of the year. It celebrates our faith in the e Resurrection, the cornerstone of our belief. The four parts of the Easter Vigil move us through a gradual unfolding of its mystery. The Service of Light, with its blazing fire, shatters the darkness and illuminates the entire church with its brilliance, as we praise God in the song of the Exsultet. The Liturgy of the Word speaks of God s plan throughout salvation history. The Liturgy of Baptism draws the elect into the promise of eternal life and renews the baptismal commitment of the faithful. The Liturgy of the Eucharist brings the celebration to its climax as we experience the Risen Christ. Let us keep this time sacred by gathering as a family at all three liturgies in church to celebrate God s great love for us!
El Triduo Pascual Durante esta semana tan especial estamos invitados a unirnos en oración en cada una de las liturgias del triduo celebrando el misterio principal de nuestra fé: la Pasión, muerte y Resurrección de Cristo. Jueves Santo: Nos reunimos esta noche para entrar en el Triduo, a la gloria de la cruz. Levanta alto la cruz. En las escrituras podemos escuchar tres historias: La Cena Pascual relatada por Pablo como la Cena del Señor, y el lavado de los pies. Aunque se resalta esta cena histórica, también se resalta el Nuevo mandamiento de amarnos como El nos amó, tal y como lo cantamos durante el lavado de los pies. Después de la Comunión viene la procession del Sagrado Sacramento que reposa en el altar y nosotros estamos invitados a celebrar en oración solemne. Viernes Santo: La celebración de la Pasión del Señor. En este acontecimiento se ganó la salvación de los pecadores, este día es llamado Santo y la liturgia refleja tanto el amor como la pérdida de nuestro Señor. La liturgia de hoy tiene tres partes: 1) Liturgia de la Palabra el cuál incluye la Pasión de acuerdo a San Juan y las solemnes intercesiones. La Veneración de la cruz; y la Sagrada Comunion. Como fieles creyentes, nosotros expresamos reverencia y respeto como en señal de gratitud a la persona que nos salvó y nos hace libres Vigilia Pascual: La Vigilia Pascual es la Eucaristía más importante del año. En esta se celebra nuestra fé en la Resurrección, es la piedra angular de nuestra fé. Las cuatro partes de esta Vigilia Pascual nos transporta de manera gradual a la evolución de este misterio. El Servicio de la Luz, con este fuego, se rompe la oscuridad y se ilumina la iglesia por completo, mientras recibimos este brillo alabamos a Dios con el himno del Exsultet. La Liturgia de la Palabra nos habla del plan divino a través de la historia de la salvación. La liturgia del bautizo atrae a los elegidos a la promesa de la vida eterna y renueva el compromiso bautismal de los creyentes. La Liturgia de la Eucaristía culmina con la celebración de nuestra experiencia de Cristo Resucitado. Come next school year, OLL will be fully implementing the use of i-pads in middle school while partially integrating them in the elementary and early childhood grades in conjunction with the now existent SmartBoard program. What a few years ago was considered an impossible dream because of its cost is about to become a reality thanks to the encouragement of Dr. Kim Pryzbylski, Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Miami, the support of the OLL Consultative Board, and the financial commitment of the OLL Home and School Association. In the course of the current school year, teachers began integrating the use of their i-pads in their daily teaching, and students have become used to this new tool. Our final educational goal is to get our students ready, first, for high school, and then, for college and career.
