Expansion up to 16 Channels While the basic IFA 300 system can handle up to eight anemometer channels in one cabinet, a total of sixteen anemometers can be monitored and controlled by ThermalPro software with the addition of a second cabinet (and the appropriate digitizer). In case you need two systems, the two IFA 300 cabinets can be used as two separate systems with the purchase of a second A/D converter. Thermal Pro Data Acquisition and Analysis Software The IFA 300 is designed for complete computer control through the ThermalPro software. System operating functions, such as control of the overheat ratios and signal conditioner settings, are handled via an RS232 interface, while the high speed analog data from the anemometer output is managed with a high speed multichannel digitizer installed inside the computer. The ThermalPro software is supplied with the IFA 300 system to allow all control and data acquisition, data analysis and presentation of results. -3-

Complete IFA 300 CTA System The complete IFA 300 system is made up of the following components: IFA 300 CTA Multichannel digitizer ThermalPro software Hot Wire/Hot film probe and probe support The IFA 300 unit comes with a single CTA channel, when multiple channels are needed, additional CTA can be purchased (up to 8 channels of CTA). If more than 8 channels are required for your flow research, an IFA 300 auxiliary cabinet is also required. This allows a total of 16 channels to be configured. Air Velocity Calibrators Three models of air velocity calibrators are offered. They are: Model 1127 Model 1128A Model 1129 Manual velocity calibrator without pressure transducer B and C Manual velocity calibrator with different pressure transducer (0 to 100 mm Hg; 0 to 100 mmhg and 0-1000 mmhg respectively) Automatic velocity calibrator with 0 to 100 mm Hg pressure transducer The velocity calibrator can be used with one-, two-, or three sensor probe and provides the probe mounts for yaw/pitch calibration. The calibrator is also integrated with the IFA 300 and the ThermalPro software so that the data acquisition and calibration can be perfumed with accuracy and convenience. When the Model 1129 automatic velocity calibrator is used, the calibration becomes very easy. Just define a velocity range in the ThermalPro software and attach a probe, the calibrator monitors the velocity through the output of a built-in pressure transducer, acquires sensor data, adjusts the flow rate to a new velocity, and repeats the process, until the entire velocity range is covered. The data is automatically integrated into the software calibration section. While the calibrator s most obvious benefit is automated control, it has several other advanced design features. For one, its exclusive flow nozzle design exhibits a flat velocity profile over a broad dynamic range. For another, it sports a probe mounting system that can handle any type probe and probe support with great positioning flexibility, essential for yaw and pitch calibration of probes. -6-

Computer Controlled Traverse Systems Three different computer-controlled traverses are offered, Models 1191. 1192 and 1193, each able to precisely locate and move a probe. As part of an anemometer system, they enable automated measurement or remote operation. Typically, they are controlled using ThermalPro software, where a customer defined matrix identifies the measurement points. They also operate independently using front panel controls and displays on the power supply. All traverses are built to ensure stable operation over the full translation range. They feature 600 mm travel with 10μm resolution, both absolute and relative homing capability, and a universal probe mount with tilt. The three models differ only in the number of axes of movement. Calibration Services TSI provides calibration data, supplied on disk, for all probes it manufactures. When ordering, indicate the velocity range in air (0 to 5 m/s, 0 to 50 m/s, or 0 to 100 m/s) or water (0 to 1 m/s or 0 to 5 m/s). Start-up Anemometer Systems Model 1750 Constant Temperature Anemometer Module The Model 1750 Constant Temperature Anemometer (CTA) is designed for startup multi-channel applications. Users typically incorporate the 1750 in their existing data acquisition and control system, and therefore it does not include any software, output signal conditioner, or computer interface. The following components are needed to be used with the Model 1750 CTA module to make up the complete system: Model 1751 Power Supply Model 1304 Control Resistor Single sensor wire or film probe Model 1150-6 Probe adaptor, or equivalent Model CL-CAL1750AIR calibration (please specify your velocity range) Each 1750 interfaces with a single-sensor anemometer probe. The 1750 system does not include signal conditioning, hence any offset and gain applied to the output voltage needs to be within the range of your analog to digital converter (typically -5 to +5V or 0 to 10V). Optimization of the frequency response can be achieved by adjusting the Trim and Gain controls on the anemometer. Specifications Number of channels Amplifier input noise Frequency response Maximum probe current Maximum bridge voltage Output voltage range Analog output impedance Sensor operating resistance Cable length Size (including mounting flange) Input Voltage Operating temperature 0 to 50 C One 7 nv/ Hz DC to 100 khz(3.8 μm) diameter tungsten wire, 100 m/s velocity 0.75 A @25 VDC Supply 22 VDC @25 VDC Supply 8 to 22 VDC @25 VDC Supply 50 Ω From 4 Ω to 20 Ω 2 m 11.4 cm x 10.7 cm x 2.8 cm (4.5 in. x 4.2 in. x 1.1 in.) 12 to 25 VDC -8-

Model 1745 Constant Current Anemometer module The Model 1745 Constant Current Anemometer (CCA) module is a stand-alone anemometer designed to measure average as well as instantaneous temperatures in the 0 o C to 300 o C range. The module is to be used with wire or film sensor operating as cold probe to allow the rapid measurements of temperature. The output from the anemometer is analog voltage reading directly dependent upon the actual temperature of the flow. Zero adjust and gain features allow convenient scaling of the output during calibration and measurement.
