Computer/Laptop Access: You ll have access to every space and subheading option. In addition, when viewing the webcasts, you ll have the ability to chat. When viewing exclusive online sessions, you ll have full functionality. Mobile Device Access: Although you ll have access to fewer spaces, they will include major spaces like the Sessions area. GETTING STARTED: TECHNOLOGY, LOG IN, AGENDA & TIME ZONES, RECORDINGS Virtual Conference Homepage: View this page for login information as well as information about the virtual conference center, webcasts, exclusive online sessions, recordings, and resources. TECHNOLOGY View the Technical Requirements page for system checks as well as hardware and software requirements for both your computer and mobile device. LOG IN Enter the environment either via your computer or mobile device (your mobile device will have limited options, but you can view all of the sessions) using this link <, the button on the conference homepage, or the button on the virtual conference homepage. Use the credentials that were sent to you on September 23. If you register after this date, you ll receive a personal e mail message The Virtual Conference Center will open early, on September 23, so you can test your credentials and technology set. It will remain open through January 2, 2015. Registrants will receive login credentials via an e mail message from EDUCAUSE on January 28. AGENDA & TIME ZONES NOTE: The default time zone for both the agenda on the EDUCAUSE site and in the Virtual Meeting Center is Eastern Time. 1. Virtual Conference Center: To change the timezone, click on Sessions then click on the Eastern Time Zone link. Page 3

2. Virtual Conference Center: You can also change the time zone from your profile page. MOBILE DEVICES You can only change the timezone from your Profile page. Page 4

RECORDINGS AND THE PRIVATE RECORDINGS PAGE RECORDINGS will be posted less than 3 hours after a session ends. PRIVATE RECORDINGS PAGE: This private page allows you and your nonregistered team members to access the recordings without logging into the Virtual Conference Center. FORM: You will need to fill out the below form in order to access this page, but if you fill out the form on the same device, you ll only need to fill it out once. Page 5

VIRTUAL CONFERENCE CENTER LOBBY After logging in, you will be taken to the Lobby. Top navigation bar: To visit different event areas, click on headings and hover over heading names then click on action items in the drop down list. 1. Click on the Sessions graphic for quick access to all live and on demand presentations. 2. Help Desk: Live help is offered during all conference hours Tuesday Thursday. 3. Return to the lobby by clicking on Home. 3. 2. 1. MOBILE DEVICES This lobby space is NOT available on mobile devices. VIEW ALL SESSIONS 1. The default time zone is Eastern Time. Change the time zone by clicking the time zone link. 2. Click on the correct day of the week tab to view the session listings (all tabs and session details match the EDUCAUSE website detailed agenda). 3. View sessions: Click on the Live Now button, under each session title, which will appear 15 minutes before every session begins. The Watch On Demand button will appear after the session ends; recordings will be posted less than 3 hours after the session ends. These buttons are dynamic and will change from Add Reminder to Starting Soon, Enter Now, Live now, Presentation Ended, and Watch On Demand. 2. 1. 3. Speaker pictures/bios: 1. Speaker names are linked to EDUCAUSE profile pages; you will get an EDUCAUSE login page if their profile is not public. Page 7

SESSIONS TYPES AND PLAYERS WEBCASTS 63 webcasts will be shown using the Sonic Foundry mediasite player. You ll see a webcast icon to the left of the session title. SONIC FOUNDRY MEDIASITE WEBCAST PLAYER 1. Click on the white icons on the upper right of the player box to change your view. 2. The Chat box will automatically open to the right of the player for all online attendees. Please use this chat box to discuss content, share resources and post speaker questions. There will be a moderator in each room watching for questions from the online audience. NOTE: The player and chat boxes will open automatically. You can open, close, move or change the size of any of these boxes. 1. 2. NOTE: Other graphics at the bottom include the refresh button, a link to the help desk, the twitter and chat icons and the session evaluation link. Page 8

EXCLUSIVE ONLINE SESSIONS Enter a Live Session 18 sessions will be hosted in Adobe Connect, an interactive web conferencing software system. You can directly interact with the speaker and other attendees via the chat box, polls and other interactive features. You ll see an exclusive online session icon to the left of the session title. You will get two windows; one will note that Adobe Connect has been launched. Close that window. Go to the other window, which will show a login page. You can either click on: Enter as a guest then enter your first and last name as well as your institution OR Enter with your login and password then enter in your INXPO credentials Both options will work and it doesn t matter which one you use. MOBILE DEVICES WEBCASTS Click on View Sessions. Click on the down arrow next to Presentations to view the dates. Click on the Live Now button or On Demand button to view the session. Apple iphone or itouch: You ll be prompted to download the Sonic Foundry Mediasite Mobile App from itunes. Note: You can view the complete video stream, but the chat feature is not available. EVALUATIONS Registered and nonregistered team members can fill out session evaluations via the EDUCAUSE website agenda page. Registered participants can click on the Evaluate This Session button under each session title in the Virtual Conference Center, or on the icon in the webcast player. Page 10

NETWORKING & GROUP CHAT 1. Group chat allows participants to discuss the event, network, or simply chat while taking a break. Go to tab 1 Participant Chat, enter in a message then hit send. 2. Questions for the Profession are changed out daily. Please respond, submit your own discussion questions, or take a break and chat. 3. Click on each tab to access other sites including Flickr, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn 3. 2. 1. MOBILE DEVICES Click on the pop out button to see participant chat, flickr, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Page 11

TRIVIA GAME Hover over Networking in the top navigation bar then click on Trivia Game. We will award a $25 amazon gift card to two winners. You must complete the trivia game by 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time. MOBILE DEVICES This space is NOT available on mobile devices. CONNECT WITH PEERS See who s online, which host space they re located in and click on their name to connect with him/her. MOBILE DEVICES Click on the icon or words to view who s online. Page 12

EDUCAUSE CENTRAL Once the video from Diana Oblinger, President and CEO of EDUCAUSE plays, you ll see a graphic. We ll continue to post graphics from the onsite visual facilitator throughout the event. Information in the first tab: HELP US DESIGN THE DIGITAL FUTURE Share your ideas on higher education in the future by answering the following two questions. Your ideas will be added to the wall of ideas in Orlando being sketched live by our visual facilitation artist. 1. What technology has the greatest potential to strengthen our future? PROFILE Fill out your profile in order to network with attendees in the event. NOTE: This information is unique to the Virtual Conference Center and is not linked to your EDUCAUSE profile (e.g., feel free to note your campus team name and upload unique photos, etc). You can edit your profile at any time by clicking Profile on the toolbar at the top of the screen. MOBILE DEVICES Click on your picture to view your profile and briefcase. *This is where you can change your timezone as well. Page 14

BRIEFCASE There are a couple of items loaded into your briefcase. Click on the icon in the bottom middle of your screen. COMMUNICATION CENTER There are four types of private communication: email, chat, vcard and connections. To initiate communication with an event participant you can click the communicate icon located bottom middle of your screen. From here you can view received and sent e mails and vcards as well as view previous, pending and missed chat sessions. Within the communication center is also the connections feature, which allows you to view and accept new connection requests. Page 15

COMMUNICATION NOTIFICATIONS If you receive an email, Vcard, chat request, connection or announcement you will be notified via a communication bubble that will display in the upper right hand corner of your screen. You can also access these messages within your profile. Announcement You ll receive an announcement if there are any just in time updates; e.g. if a session is cancelled or a link has changed. Click on the notification window to view or dismiss. Chat Request If you receive a chat request you will be able to accept or decline the request. You may also send a short message to the chat requester when declining a chat. Email The notification will display you have an unread email. Click on the notification window to view. Vcard The notification will display you have a new vcard. Click on the notification window to view. Connection The notification will display that you have a new connection. You can click on accept or ignore directly from the request window. Page 16
