INTRODUCTION We are going to show you how to deploy websites so that people can access your web page from anywhere in the world. Whether it is an electronic resume, a portfolio, or just a website for fun, you can easily create an HTML file for the website on your computer and access it locally. However, in order for others to be able to access your website, we need to put it on the Internet. Luckily, Carnegie Mellon University offers each student free web deployment as part of the computing services package. To take advantage of this, we will put our files on the Andrew File System (AFS), move them into the web deployment folder, and tell the Andrew servers that we are ready to publish our website. 2
