Free Members-Only Webinars The IIA's complimentary Members-Only Webinar Series is available exclusively to you as part of your membership. You can register for the free webinars at www.theiia.org. 15-May-2012: Your Personal Brand: Manage It! 19-June-2012: What to Do When it All Goes Wrong: Crisis Management and Business Continuity 17-July-2012: Pulse of the Profession: How Resources, Priorities, Opportunities, and Challenges are Aligning for Internal Auditing On-demand 24/7 Members-Only Webinar Playback: Webinar Archives You asked us: Does the Members-Only Webinar playback option qualify for CPE credits? Are you concerned that if you don t watch the members-only webinars (MOW) live on the first day the webinars are aired, you won t qualify for IIA CPE credits? Questions like this have arisen because of the statement on the MOW webpage advising that Ondemand webinars do not qualify for NASBA CPEs. Rest assured, MOW playbacks absolutely count as IIA CPE credits under the self-study category. NASBA (aka National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) is a separate organization from the IIA, which governs CPAs and has its own set of rules for CPEs. Therefore, don t be concerned if the webinar date conflicts with our monthly luncheon schedule. You can sit back, view the MOW playback AND qualify for CPE credits as you watch it at your leisure. 4
Membership News continued Speaking of CPEs As a reminder, effective this year, all certified individuals are required to report their Continuing Professional Education credits earned on an annual basis. To facilitate this change, the reporting deadline date has moved from May 31st to December 31st for all candidates. Candidates will need to report a varied amount of CPE based on when they last reported. For more information, contact the IIA. Membership Data Improvement Initiative Thank you to all who reviewed their membership profiles and updated them as necessary. With better information, we ll be able to offer services tailored to our Chapter s needs. Didn t get the chance to update your information? You can do so anytime at www.theiia.org. Membership Directory Enhancement In May, we will begin publishing our membership directory by industry, in addition to by name and by company. Please give use feedback on whether you feel this is a useful resource and let us know what other resources you d like to see. NEW resource: AuditChannel TV In keeping with our motto "Progress Through Sharing," the IIA launched a new video-sharing site, AuditChannel.tv, in 2011. The "video channels" focus on fraud, governance, risk, technology, operations, and compliance. Most shared videos are under five minutes in length. The IIA envisions AuditChannel.tv to be community-driven, with users providing the majority of the content and guiding its evolution. Once registered at www.auditchannel.tv, you can view, rate, and comment on the site's current content and add your own. Contributing content is easy. Grab your mobile phone or sit in front of your webcam, film a short segment (two to five minutes in length), and post to AuditChannel.tv using the instructions provided on the site. Let s set a goal of uploading 5 videos from Chapter members in 2012. (Go onto www.auditchannel.tv to see which Board member already contributed a video!)
