TCCD Policy for Registration All Students Nursing Registration Fall 2015 All TCCD registration rules apply to priority registration Registration is available from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. daily Payment of tuition online is available until 1 a.m. daily Students may register on their assigned day or any day thereafter Payment of tuition and fees is due at the time of registration for classes Students are responsible for making payment arrangements before registering for classes. Check with business services for outstanding fees which might block you from registering All unpaid classes are dropped nightly Payment of tuition and fees will be due at the time of registration All unpaid courses will be dropped nightly Financial aid and scholarship students, VA Chapter 33 recipients and other sponsored students who have made payment arrangements with Business Services will not be dropped Since policy may change, check with Web Advisor for more recent policy Nursing Course Registration Additional Information Students enrolling in all Nursing courses, with the exception of Foundations, Nursing Skills, Mental Health, JPS distance groups, fast track and returning students, will participate in selfregistration. Dates and Deadlines Nursing Courses begin registration on June 15, 2015 @ 6 a.m. according to the TCCD priority registration schedule. Nursing course registration ends June 30, 2015 @ midnight. After that, enrolling in nursing courses will be done by the nursing department. Registration for other TCC courses ends 1 week before classes start. Registration for JPS and Fast Track: Students in these cohorts will be registered in to their sections by the nursing department date TBA. Payments must be made by midnight or the student will be dropped from the course. Registration for returning/transfer students: Students returning/retaking a course will be contacted by the assistant directors, Mary Wiehardt, RN or Debbie Price, RN no later than July 25, 2015. Registration for returning students will be through the Nursing Department based on available space. ATTENTION: If you have withdrawn from the Nursing Program for any reason, or failed a Nursing Course in the and are returning in Fall 2015, you may not register until placed in a course. Note (1+ long semester) in enrollment in the nursing program. Please contact the nursing office for further information. Do not register for more than one theory and one clinical section per course. If you register for more than one section, nursing administration will randomly drop one of the sections (the section dropped may not be your preference). Nursing Administration reserves the right to re-assign clinical placements based on administrative needs. Faculty assignments are subject to change based on administrative needs. Theory and clinical sections have been linked together so that students are able to register for a clinical and a theory section that do not conflict. You must register for both theory and clinical. Special Topics B is not linked so you may select from any available sections. Be sure to register for Special Topics B if you are in the Complex course. Online All students who register for the online/hybrid/blended theory courses will need to report to campus for exams date/times TBA Students who have never taken an online course or have taken one and not passed with a grade of C, must successfully complete the Smarter Measure Assessment before they are able to register for online courses Students who have not been successful in a nursing face to face or online course are discouraged from taking an online nursing course. Since online course are linked to clinical sections, please contact an Assistant Director if you are concerned about taking on online section. Documentation Documentation of current CPR (must be American Heart Association Health Care Provider), TB screening, and proof of health insurance must be on file in Immunitrax by the first clinical day. It is the students responsibility to take care of this prior to the first clinical day. You cannot attend clinical without these being current. They must be current through the last day of the Fall 2015 semester A seasonal flu immunization is required for Fall 2015 (receiving this immunization occurs after fall 15 start) and Spring 2016 academic year to attend clinical. If you choose not to take the flu vaccine you must sign a form stating that you agree to wear a mask during the entire time that you are in a clinical facility that has an associated policy. Flu immunizations are given during the fall season, which is after the fall semester begins. You will be notified of the deadline for submitting your documentation related to the influenza vaccine

Care of Children and Families and Maternal/Newborn Nursing and Women s Health (8-Week Courses) Maternal and Child Health Nursing consists of two 8-week courses: maternal-newborn and pediatric nursing. At mid-semester, students who are in maternal-newborn and pediatrics change clinical sites and instructor. See the campus Financial Aid Office regarding distribution of funds for this special semester. Note: Students registering for OB & Pedi must choose a clinical and theory section within the same 8-weeks. For example, if you choose to register for a Pedi theory section in the first 8 weeks, then the Pedi clinical section that you choose must also be in the first 8 weeks.
