CAMPS 2013 SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA Founded on February 28th, 1904, Sport Lisboa e Benfica is the Biggest Club in the World. With 14 million fans around the world, it is present across 70 countries. For its majestic nature, and representing strength, protection, magnificence and bravery, the Eagle is Benfica s symbol. Currently, Sport Lisboa e Benfica has 1200 athletes distributed by 30 sports and 228.144 members. SL Benfica brings pride and prestige to its million supporters through football, being among the beautiful game s elite: considered by UEFA as the 9th European Club of the 20th century, it is one of 12 clubs that won the European Cup for two times, having been ranked 8th by the prestigious magazine L Equipe. CAMPS 2013 SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA Besides its vast and rich honours, players like Eusebio (the Club s greatest scorer ever, with 638 goals, and awarded by FIFA as one of the top 10 footballers of all time), Chalana, Nené, Rui Costa, among others, have worn Benfica s jersey.. It currently has several world class players at its service, such as the captain and Brazilian international Luisão, the Paraguayan goal scorer Óscar Cardozo, and one of the best number 10 jerseys of today, Pablo Aimar. SL Benfica has two professional squads First Team and B Team. The First Team is composed of 24 players from 8 different nationalities, 16 of them representing their national teams.
CAMPS 2013 CAMPS Elite Training Camps is a program developed by Sport Lisboa e Benfica for youngsters born between 1995 and 2000 that want to develop and improve their sporting performance. Sport Lisboa e Benfica will put at the participants disposal the knowledge and programs that made it a world reference in the elite training of young athletes. METHODOLOGY The methodology applied in the Elite Training Camps will be the same that SL Benfica uses in the training of its athletes, and that guarantees the sustainability of its professional squads. Through specific training that Sport Lisboa e Benfica will provide, you will be able to develop your technical, tactical, physical and psychological skills. Aspects like, running technique, relationship with the ball, tactical circulation and attacking and defensive game principles will be worked on daily in both an individual and collective context.
CAMPS 2013 CAMPS METHODOLOGY The training schedules will have a duration of 5 hours per day, for 7, 14 or 21 days, and will be developed by SL Benfica s coaches accredited by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and UEFA. There will be 3 categories (under-14 to under-19), each having specific technical-tactical training. In addition, you will also have the possibility of being observed and evaluated by Sport Lisboa e Benfica s Technical and Scouting Departments. YOU WILL BE CLOSER TO THE BIGGEST STAGES IN WORLD FOOTBALL.
CAMPS 2013 CAMPS COACHES Accredited by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and UEFA, the SL Benfica coaches are decisive elements in the development of the Club s young athletes. It will be them following your evolution in practice during Elite Training Camps. Technical director in charge will be João Santos: UEFA PRO License; Masters Degree in Physical Education and Sport Sciences; UEFA Study Group; Technical Director of Sport Lisboa e Benfica s Youth Academy since 2010; Coach of the Portuguese Under-15 National Team between 2006 and 2009; Coach of Sport Lisboa e Benfica s B Team between 2004 and 2006. CAMPS 2013 CAMPS INFRAESTRUCTURES During your participation in Elite Training Camps, the practice sessions will take place in Caixa Futebol Campus and the accommodation will be at Hotel Meliá Aldeia dos Capuchos. Travels between the two places are provided by Sport Lisboa e Benfica. CAIXA FUTEBOL CAMPUS Providing all the conditions for an elite club, SL Benfica s Caixa Futebol Campus will be at your disposal, having: 6 Football fields; 62 Bedrooms; 16 Dressing rooms; 2 Auditoriums; 2 Gymnasiums; 1 Conference room; 1 Dining room; 1 Meeting room (with internet and games); Technical and medical offices. Caixa Futebol Campus is the training center of SL Benfica s two professional football teams, as well as of six Youth Teams, comprising 120 athletes, 42 of them playing at international level, and 21 coaches.
CAMPS 2013 CAMPS HOTEL MELIÃ ALDEIA DOS CAPUCHOS Situated at the entrance of the historical Vila dos Capuchos, known for its exclusivity and the Convents majestic presence, Hotel Meliã Aldeia dos Capuchos is a magnificent viewpoint over the sea, inserted in a grand touristic and residential area. Bounded by a vast green area, where a golf course and an excellent fitness course stand out, it also has very easy accesses. The Hotel meets the essential conditions of comfort and well-being, with ideal rest and recreation settings at the athletes disposal.
