2.0 Ways to access your Voicemail There are several ways to access your Voicemail from your Mobile. Dial 122 Dial 083210 On your key pad, press and hold 1 Look up Voicemail in your contacts and call 2.1 Non Spark purchased Device Change the Voicemail number Devices not purchased from Spark may need to have the settings updated to be able to access Voicemail using 122 or 083210. 1. Go to Messages 2. Look for Voicemail (under Settings or Voice Messages, consult your device user guide) 3. Replace the current number with +64 8308 3210 2.2 Setting up for the first time 2. Enter 1234 (Default PIN) 3. Enter a new PIN 4. Follow the voice prompts to set up your mailbox Record your name you will hear this when you call your mailbox to check your messages Record a friendly, snappy, personal greeting Callers will hear this Notes: BlackBerry devices will prompt you to enter the Voicemail access number (+64 8308 3210) the first time you check your Voicemail. 2.3 Change your greeting 1. 3.0 Checking your messages You can check your messages from anywhere, any phone, anytime! 3.1 From your Mobile 2. If prompted enter your PIN 3. Press # 4. Listen to your messages 3.2 From another Mobile, Landline or Fibre Landline 1. Dial your mobile number 2. Wait until you hear your greeting 3. Press * 4. Enter your PIN 5. Press # 6. Listen to your messages 3.3 From Overseas Call charges will apply. 1. Dial the International Access code for the country you're calling from 2. Dial 64 83 083210 and wait for the message 3. Enter your mailbox number (your phone number without the 0 for the area code eg. 27 1234567) 4. Press # 5. Enter PIN 6. Press # Listen to your messages 3.4 Hear the caller s number While listening to a message, press # to hear the number of the caller. 4.0 PIN Numbers Notes: You can change your PIN at any time PINS must be between four and ten digits and can t start with 0 PINS Cannot be the last four digits of your Mobile Number 4.1 How to change your PIN number 2. You will go straight to someone who will be able to reset your PIN 4.4 Call Back When you have a message in your Mailbox, you have the option to Call Back the person who left the message. 1. Things you should know about Call Back All Call Back calls are charged to your Spark mobile account If your mobile is part of a linked group, Call Back calls are charged to the primary number of the linked group Call Back calls are charged at your mobile plan calling rate Call Back calls use your included minutes where applicable If you are on a Pay Monthly mobile plan and this service is not available on your mailbox, please call Spark on *123 if you're a residential customer or 126 if you're a business customer to enable Call Back You cannot call back international, 0800 or 0900 numbers You cannot call back confidential numbers or numbers using restricted caller ID Call Back is currently not available on prepaid mobile phones unless they are part of a linked group Sometimes a message may be left by a caller using a landline business number, i.e. a pilot number that cannot be called back. In this case, you will have to call back by dialling an alternate number 04 P a g e
5.0 Setting Voicemail Diversion 1. Go to Settings or Profile 2. Look for Forward / Divert Calls (or something similar) 3. Enter the Voicemail Forward / Diversion number (+64 8320 0000) for the No answer, Divert if busy and Not reachable options 5.1 Call Forward If you have a Pay Monthly mobile, you have a Call Forward option. This means you can set up your message service to give your callers the option to go through to another number, e.g. your greeting could say "Sorry, I'm unavailable right now, but please press 0 to go through to my assistant, otherwise leave me a message after the tone". 1. Press 3 Personal Options 2. Press 3 Message Notifications and Call Forward options 3. Press 4 Setup Call Forward to another number 4. Follow the instructions to enter the number you wish to forward calls to Notes: The number must include the area or Mobile Network Code (including the zero). E.g. 04 123 4567 or 027 123 4567 You can select the hours you wish Call Forward to be active. E.g. 0800 to 1145 only Things you should know about Call Forward All forwarded calls will be charged to your Spark mobile account If your mobile is part of a linked group, forwarded calls are charged to the primary number of the linked group Forwarded calls are charged at your mobile plan calling rate plus any applicable voicemail retrieval charges Forwarded calls use your included minutes where applicable If you are on a Pay Monthly mobile plan and this service is not available on your mailbox, please call Spark from your mobile on *123 if you're a residential customer or 126 if you're a business customer to enable Call Forward Calls cannot be forwarded to international, or 0800 and 0900 numbers Call Forward is currently not available on prepaid mobile phones unless they are part of a linked group 05 P a g e
6.0 Send a message to another number It s easy to leave a message in another Spark Voicemail Mailbox 2. Press 2 3. Follow the voice prompts 4. Enter the persons mailbox number 6.1 Send the same message to a group of mailboxes 2. Press 2 3. Follow the voice prompts 4. After entering the first mailbox number just press 3 to continue adding mailbox numbers Note: If you need to send messages to the same group regularly, you'll find Voicemail Extra more suited to your needs. Follow the voice prompts 6.3 Guidelines for sending/forwarding messaging to other mailboxes Your Voicemail must not be used to send inappropriate messages to other mailboxes or phone numbers Inappropriate messages include, but are not limited to, messages that are: o Unsolicited advertising messages o From an anonymous sender o Annoying or offensive in nature Spark reserves the right to deactivate the message delivery function from a mailbox if it has been used inappropriately. 06 P a g e
7.0 Recording a message for future delivery As well as adding delivery options (private, urgent or request confirmation) to a message, you can also record a message up to 15 days in advance, and mark it for delivery at a specified date and time. 2. From the Main Menu 3. Press 2 - Send a Message 4. Follow the voice prompts to enter the mailbox or distribution list you want 5. Record your message 6. Press # 7. Press 4 - Delivery Options 8. Press 4 - Future Delivery 9. For delivery today Press # 10. For delivery on a specific date enter the two digits for the day, followed by the two digits for the month, e.g. 26 January will be 2601, then press #. Then enter the time you would like your message to be delivered, and press 1 for AM or 2 for PM, e.g. 2:35PM will be 2352 7.1 Create a Distribution List 2. From the Main Menu 3. Press 3 Personal Options 4. Press 5 Distribution Lists 5. Follow the Voice Prompts Voicemail Extra allocates a distribution list number, and you can label each list with a convenient name e.g. "Sales Team" 7.2 Send a message to a Distribution List 2. 8.0 Who Called Who Called is a free missed call notification you receive on your mobile that is hugely helpful in situations like flat mobile phone battery, Airplane Mode activated, Powered off, or simply outside the coverage area. This fantastic service lets you know who called even when the caller hasn't left you a voice message. As soon as your phone is available on the Spark network again, you will receive your Free Who Called notification. Note: Calling back the caller is charged at your normal per minute rate. 8.1 What is a Mailbox Number? This is the phone number without the 0 at the front. For example, 027 123 4567 will be 271234567, and 09 482 1234 will be 94821234 8.2 Cancel Voicemail If you would like to stop having Voicemail on your Mobile please call *123. 8.3 Shortcuts Repeat a message Press 1 Save a message for up to 30 days Press 2 Delete a message Press 3 Listen to all your messages one after another Press 6 Rewind 8 seconds Press 7 Pause Press 8 Fast forward 8 seconds Press 9 Fast forward to end Press 99 Get help Press 0 Return to the main menu Press * Call Back the person who left the message (Pay Monthly Only) Press # Exit Hang up 08 P a g e
