Stakeholder Summit Speakers Jack Burkom Senior Vice President, Commercial Development Brookfield Energy Marketing Inc. Jack Burkom is the Senior Vice President, Commercial Development at Brookfield Energy Marketing LP, responsible for the front office team tasked with optimizing the revenues from Brookfield s fleet of electric generating stations across North America. Jack joined Brookfield in 2004 having traded in the deregulated power markets in the United States for approximately five years for the unregulated subsidiary of Pacific Gas and Electric. Prior to working at PG&E, Jack worked on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Jack brings over fourteen years of diversified experience in the North American electricity market including asset valuation, acquisitions, power purchasing agreement negotiation, corporate strategy, power trading, power marketing and structured transactions. Cam Carver Chief Executive Officer Temporal Power Ltd. Cam Carver is the CEO of Temporal Power Ltd. He brings more than 15 years of experience as a technology entrepreneur and management consultant specializing in clean technologies. Cam is a cofounder of Temporal Power and has led the company in private financings and government awarded grants. He is the founding Chair of the Ontario Energy Storage Alliance, Ontario s energy storage industry group and also sits on the City of Mississauga s Economic Development Advisory Council. Cam holds a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization.

Barry Chuddy Chief Executive Officer Guelph Hydro Inc. Barry Chuddy joined Guelph Hydro Inc. as Chief Executive Officer in August 2009. Guelph Hydro Inc. is a non-regulated holding company that is actively developing sustainable energy projects as a key implementer of the City of Guelph s Community Energy Initiative. Guelph Hydro Inc. consists of two companies: Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc. the regulated local electricity distribution company serving 52,000 customers in Guelph and Rockwood and Envida Community Energy Inc., a non-regulated renewable and alternative energy company, also located in Guelph. Prior to joining Guelph Hydro Inc., Barry served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Columbia Power Corporation, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Enersource Hydro Mississauga, and held senior positions with TransAlta and Emera Inc. He was an original stakeholder Board member of Ontario s Independent Electricity Market Operator (now the Independent Electricity System Operator - IESO) and chaired the IESO Audit Committee. He is a past Board member of the Association of Power Producers of Ontario and the Canadian District Energy Association and currently serves on the Canadian Forum of the International District Energy Association and the Board of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce. In early 2013, Barry received the Chartered Director designation from The Directors College (a joint venture of McMaster University and The Conference Board of Canada). Chris Conway President and Chief Staff Officer BOMA Toronto Chris is the President and Chief Staff Officer of the Building Owners and Managers Association of the Greater Toronto Area (BOMA Toronto). BOMA Toronto's goal is to actively and responsibly represent and promote the interests of the commercial real estate industry through effective leadership, advocacy, standard setting, environmental designations, awards and professional development. In the GTA, BOMA Toronto represents 150 million square feet of commercial office space and approximately 80 percent of all commercial real estate companies. BOMA Toronto has over 800 members including large pension funds, REITs and publicly listed real estate as well as companies who provide services to commercial real estate. Chris was previously Vice President, Government Relations at the Real Property Association of Canada (REALpac) and worked on Parliament Hill for several MPs and Cabinet Ministers, including a former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. He has a BA from St. Francis Xavier University, an MBA from Queens University, an LLB from the University of London, UK, and has completed the Canadian Securities Course. Robert Coulbeck Vice President, Energy Management Goreway Station Partnership Mr. Coulbeck as VP of Energy Management is responsible for the commercial operations of Goreway Power Station. The Goreway energy management group optimizes natural gas supply, transportation and storage contracts while managing their OPA contract obligations and participation in the IESO wholesale markets. He has over 25 years of electricity industry experience with a strong focus in ISO/RTO Wholesale Electricity Markets, power grid management, generation portfolio optimization, energy trading and demand-side management. Nigel Etherington Chief Technology Officer Potentia Solar Inc. Mr. Etherington is CTO and a co-founder of Potentia Solar Inc. a rooftop solar PV company. His executive role there has encompassed the full scope of technology oversight including project development, delivery, acquisitions and supply chain management with over twenty megawatts connected to the Ontario electricity grid. He began his career at Ontario Hydro which was then furthered in England with graduate studies and technical consulting with PA Technology. In 1989, he joined McKinsey & Company, where he served senior management of Fortune 500 companies on business strategy, acquisitions and operations performance. At VERSUS Technology he led the operations and technology teams from 1997 as the Chief Operating Officer, including the launch of E*Trade Canada. In late 2000, he joined Fidelity Canada as Managing Director of its new Intermediary Services Company from concept to a launch as an IDA/MFDA broker/dealer back office in 2002. Prior to Potentia Solar, he served as Managing Director of International Client Services for IFDS, a post he held till 2006, and as COO of Potentia Energy Services LP until 2010. Mr. Etherington holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Engineering Physics from Queen s University in Kingston, Ontario and a M.Sc. degree from the University of London in England. He is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario. He currently serves on the board of the Canadian Solar Industries Association. February 7, 2014 Stakeholder Summit Speakers Page 3

AJ Goulding President London Economics International In his role as president of London Economics International LLC, A.J. Goulding manages a growing international consulting firm focused on finance, economic, and strategic consulting to the energy and infrastructure industries. In addition to serving as a sector expert in electricity and gas markets, his responsibilities include project management, marketing, budget and financial control, and recruiting. A.J. also serves as an adjunct professor at Columbia University, where he teaches a course on electricity market design and regulatory economics. With over nineteen years of experience in evolving electricity and natural gas markets, A.J. s diverse background enables him to work effectively in both emerging markets and OECD countries. In North America, A.J. has been articulate in describing market relationships between wholesale power marketers, merchant plants, aggregators, and the existing investor owned utilities. In emerging markets, A.J. has considerable experience dealing with the challenges of mixed private and public ownership, difficulties in creating credit-worthy distribution and retail entities, and the realities of line losses, unreliable fuel deliveries, and politicized labor relations. A.J. began his career performing natural gas market analysis for the ICF Resources subsidiary of ICF Kaiser International. Later, he lived for two years in New Delhi, India, where he advised the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on electric power sector restructuring in India. He continued his work on India while pursuing his MA at Columbia University, leading to the publication of an article on Indian privatization. Simultaneously, he researched the process of power sector reform in Pakistan, contrasting it with the Indian experience. Upon completion of his MA, A.J. served as business development associate for Citizens Power LLC, a top ten US wholesale power marketer. He then moved to London Economics, where he has held roles of progressively increasing responsibility. Paul Grod President & Chief Executive Officer Rodan Energy Paul Grod is President & CEO of Rodan Energy, a leading energy solutions company. Prior to founding Rodan, Paul was a corporate and investment banker with CIBC World Markets and most recently practiced corporate finance and M&A law with Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, one of Canada s largest national law firms. Paul has grown Rodan Energy into a leading clean technology company providing a full suite of powerful technology-enabled energy management solutions, including demand response, distributed generation, intelligent metering, power reliability and energy efficiency. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and holds a Bachelor of Political Science degree, a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Master of Business Administration degree. Ted Leonard Vice President Markets, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer IESO Ted Leonard is Vice President - Markets, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. In this capacity, he is responsible for market evolution and sector policy analysis, all financial management aspects of the organization, including corporate and market accounting, and the credit risk and settlement of the wholesale electricity markets. He also chairs the IESO s Pension Management Committee. Mr. Leonard has been with the IESO from its formation in 1999. Previously he held the positions of Director - Finance, Corporate Controller and Manager - Financial Systems and Support. Prior to his current role he worked in progressively senior finance roles within the electricity sector since 1996. Before joining the IESO, Mr. Leonard was with Ernst & Young LLP. Mr. Leonard is a native of Sudbury, Ontario and is Chartered Accountant and a graduate of Laurentian University (B. Com.). Greg Lyle President Innovative Research Group How Getting Consultation Right Leads to Getting Things Done Greg Lyle is the founder and President of Innovative Research Group Inc. (INNOVATIVE). As a former Principal Secretary, Greg has built a career at the intersection of public policy, communications and public opinion. With almost 30 years of communications and opinion research experience, Greg uses a full range of research tools to provide strategic counsel to a variety of government and corporate clients across industries such as financial services, health care and the energy sector. When he left his position as Manitoba s Principal Secretary in 1991, Greg went to work as a Vice President of both Decima Research and Hill and Knowlton as both a researcher and a communications strategist. It was his job to help clients bridge the gap between research insights and communications action and this has remained the core of his practice ever since. Greg has worked extensively in Canada s energy sector. Examples of these projects include the Alberta Nuclear Energy consultation, distribution rate consultations, siting of locally unwanted land uses, public opinion on energy supply mix and electricity pricing models as well as the sale of public utilities. INNOVATIVE completed its seventh national NIMBY survey in November 2013 with over 2,200 National respondents. Johannes P. Pfeifenberger Principal The Brattle Group Johannes (Hannes) Pfeifenberger is an economist with a background in electrical engineering and over twenty years of experience in the areas of regulatory economics and finance. He has assisted clients in the formulation of business and regulatory strategy, submitted expert testimony to courts, arbitration panels, and regulatory agencies around the world, and provided support in mediation, arbitration, settlement, and stakeholder processes. Hannes specializes in energy and capacity market design, financial valuation, transmission and network access, ratemaking and incentive regulation, analysis and mitigation of market power, and commercial litigation. Hannes has extensive experience in the economic analyses of electricity wholesale markets and transmission systems. His recent experience includes reviews of capacity market and resource adequacy designs, testimony in contract disputes, and the analysis of transmission benefits, cost allocation, and rate design. He has performed market assessments, market design reviews, asset valuations, and cost-benefit studies for investor-owned utilities, independent system operators, transmission companies, regulatory agencies, public power companies, and generators across North America. He has also helped clients explore the benefits of alternative regulation, the desirability of settlement proposals, and the need of regulatory and legislative actions in the context of evolving market conditions. Before joining The Brattle Group, Hannes was a Consultant for Cambridge Energy Research Associates and a Research Analyst at the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Technology in Vienna, Austria. Hannes received an M.A. in Economics and Finance from Brandeis University and an M.S. in Power Engineering and Energy Economics from the University of Technology in Vienna, Austria. Marie Pieniazek Senior Vice President, Market Operations Energy Curtailment Specialists Senior Vice President of Market Operations and energy expert Marie Pieniazek is responsible for regulatory policy and compliance, market operations, measurement and verification, as well as ECS customer relations department. Marie has over a decade of experience in the energy industry. Prior to working within the demand response industry Ms. Pieniazek was responsible for facilitation of New York s $750,000,000 Installed Capacity market at the New York Independent System Operator. Previous to joining the NYISO, she was employed by Selkirk Cogen Partners, a 345 MW cogeneration facility that provides power to New York s wholesale market. Marie provides expertise in deregulated market operations, wholesale market analysis, strategic bidding strategies and related regulatory pleadings and filings. Marie has been involved in ECS development since its inception in 2001, initially as a colleague at the NYISO, then as a consultant. ECS can attribute a portion of its considerable growth to Marie, as the company now represents several thousand customers nationwide. Marie holds a BS in Business, Economics, and Management from the State University of New York, Empire State College and an MBA from The College of Saint Rose. Mark Rothleder Vice President, Market Quality and Renewable Integration California ISO Mark Rothleder is Vice President, Market Quality and Renewable Integration at the California Independent System Operator Corporation and is leading of the ISO s renewable integration work. Mr. Rothleder has held several critical positions at the ISO after joining the grid operator as one of its first employees in 1997. He is now the longest serving ISO employee. Before being named vice president, he was Executive Director of Market Analysis and Development. His previous positions included Principal Market Developer and Director of Market Operations. In spring 2009, Mr. Rothleder led a multifunctional team in designing and implementing market rules and software modifications related to the ISO s Market Redesign and Technology Upgrade (MRTU). Since joining the ISO over fifteen years ago, Mark has worked extensively on implementing and integrating the approved market rules for California s competitive wholesale energy and reserves markets. Mr. Rothleder is a registered Professional Electrical Engineer in the state of California and holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the California State University, Sacramento. He has taken postgraduate coursework in Power System Engineering from Santa Clara University and earned an M.S. in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. Prior to joining the ISO, Mr. Rothleder worked for eight years in the electric transmission department of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, where his responsibilities included operations engineering, transmission planning and substation design. Kim Warren Vice President, Operations and Chief Operating Officer IESO Kim Warren was appointed Vice President, Operations and Chief Operating Officer in May 2011. In this role, Mr. Warren is responsible for managing the operation of Ontario's competitive wholesale electricity market and for directing the operation of the IESO-controlled grid. With over 34 years of experience in the Ontario electricity industry, Mr. Warren recently served as Director of Planning and Assessments where he directed the development of operating policies, reliability standards, system operating limits and grid connections associated with interconnected power system operations. Mr. Warren has also served as Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Manager of System Operations, during which time he was directly responsible for real-time operations in the control room leading to the successful restoration of the province's power system following the 2003 blackout.
