Goldman is listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada and in Lexpert as a leading legal practitioner and as a Toronto lawyer consistently recommended for franchise litigation. He has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, including franchise disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, intellectual property disputes, insolvency proceedings, estate claims, and class actions. Steven also acts as a mediator and arbitrator in franchise and other commercial disputes, and has planned and implemented commercial reorganizations and restructurings. He served as President and CEO of the Speedy Auto Service and Minute Muffler franchise systems, and in 2008 and 2009 successfully restructured both companies after they emerged from bankruptcy proceedings in Ontario and Alberta. Steven is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Franchise Association, American Association of Franchisees and Dealers, American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, Turnaround Management Association (Toronto), and Institute of Corporate Directors, and is a founding member of the Franchisee Lawyers Association. Currently a member of the board of directors and audit committee of Stellar Pharmaceuticals Inc., which is a publicly traded company (OTC BB: SLXCF.OB), he has authored many articles on various aspects of franchise law, commercial litigation, and insolvency law. He represents clients with disputes between officers, directors, shareholders and creditors, and also handles professional negligence claims, partnership disputes, breaches of contract, bankruptcy and insolvency issues, wills, and claims involving slander and libel. Robert has appeared at all levels of the court in Ontario, and represents and advises clients in a wide range of industries. He is currently lead counsel in commercial litigation involving some of the world s largest corporations, and recently settled a lawsuit on behalf of one of Canada s largest commercial mining operations. Robert is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Princeton Alumni Association of Canada, and the Rotman Alumni Association. He graduated with honours from Princeton University and has an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto. He was called to the Bar in Ontario and the State of New York in 1997.

4 Lawyer Profiles / Stephany Mandin Stephany Mandin practices civil litigation and administrative law, including charter litigation, medical malpractice, employment law, residential tenancy, contracts, and commercial litigation. She has appeared before the Ontario Securities Commission and Ontario Court of Appeal, has argued cases before the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal, Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Divisional Court, and has argued applications on the Commercial List. Before attending law school, she acted as director of volunteers for Peace by PEACE, an organization that educates children on self esteem, bullying, and other social issues. Stephany is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, Toronto Lawyers Association, and Advocates Society, and is an executive board member of Madison Community Services, an organization that provides transitional support and integration for individuals with mental health challenges. Prior to being called to the Bar in Ontario in 2006, Stephany received her Hon. B.A. from York University where she majored in Law and Sociology. She then received her LL.B. from Osgoode Hall, and in 2009, Stephany completed a Masters Degree in Socio-legal studies from York with a focus on Charter jurisprudence. While attending Osgoode Hall Law School, Stephany was one of four first-year students to win the annual Negotiation Competition sponsored by Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, and attended the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition in the U.S. on behalf of Osgoode.
