SECTION 1 Check current version of Remote Desktop Connection for Mac 1) In the task bar select the Finder icon as shown in the red oval in the image below. 2
2) In the window select Applications link on the left pane (as shown in the red oval in the image below). 3
3) Double click the Remote Desktop Connection icon as shown in the red oval in the image below. 4
4) The Remote Desktop Connection window will open as shown in the red oval in the image below. 5
5) In the Remote Desktop Connection task bar (see red oval in image below) select About Remote Desktop Connection option in the menu. 6
6) In the pop up window where it shows Version ensure that it displays version 2.0.0 or 2.0.1. - If you are running any version that is older than 2.0.0 you will need to remove the old version as outlined in Section 2 (page 8) and upgrade to the latest version by following the steps outlined in section 3 of this guide (page 11). - If you have version 2.0.0 or 2.0.1 skip to Section 4 (page 24). 7) Close window by clicking on the red button inside the red circle at the top left of this little window as shown in the image below. 7
SECTION 2 Remove Old Version Remote Desktop Connection 1) In the task bar select the Finder icon as shown in the red oval in the image below. 8
2) In the window select Applications link on the left pane (as shown in the red oval in the image below). 9
3) Select the Remote Desktop Connection icon as shown in the red oval in the image below. 4) Press Delete key on the keyboard or Right click the mouse and select delete. 5) Select yes to confirm the deletion of this application. 10
SECTION 3 Download and Install Remote Desktop Connection version 2.0.1 for Mac 1) Hold the CTRL key down and click once on the link below. 2) Click the Download button as shown in the red oval in the image below. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=cd9ec77e-5b07-4332-849f- 046611458871&displaylang=en 11
3) You will see a new web page open (see image below). Your download should start momentarily, if it does not, click the start download link in shown in the red oval in the image below. A new window may appear asking if you would like to save or run the application, in this case select run. 12
4) Wait for it to finish downloading. When the download completes, if the program does not open automatically, double click on the completed download. If the download opens automatically skip to step 5. 13
5) Select Continue button as shown in the red oval in the image below. 14

8) Select Agree button as shown in red oval in the image below. 17
9) Select Install button as shown in red oval in the image below. 18
10) Enter the name and password of the administrator of your local machine (as shown in red oval in image below). 19
11) The installation will continue. 20
12) Ensure applications noted in the red box in the image below are closed before proceeding. 13) Select Continue button as shown in red oval in the image below. 21
14) The installation will continue. 22
15) When the installation shows Installs Succeeded message select Close button as shown in red oval in the image below. 23
SECTION 4 Configuring Remote Desktop Connection for MAC 1) In the task bar select the Finder icon as shown in the red oval in the image below. 24
2) In the window select Applications link on the left pane (as shown in the red oval in the image below). 25
3) Double click the Remote Desktop Connection icon as shown in the red oval in the image below. 26
4) The Remote Desktop Connection window will open as shown in the red oval in the image below. 27
5) In the Remote Desktop Connection task bar (see red oval in image below) select Preferences option in the menu. 28
6) Add your username and password into the username and password fields. 7) Enter the word accomplish into the Domain field as shown in the image below. 8) Click on the two boxes below the Domain field and ensure they both have ticks in them. 9) Now close this window by clicking on the little red button on the top left of this window; above the Login tab. 29
10) Select the Display Tab as shown in the small red circle in the image below. 11) In the Colours field ensure Millions is selected. 30
12) Select the Printers Tab as shown in the larger red circle in the image below. 13) Ensure the Use a printer that is connected to the Mac checkbox is selected (see small red circle in image below). 14) Select the printer you would like to use with the remote application. 31
15) Select the Security Tab as shown in the small red circle in the image below. 16) Ensure Warn me if authentication fails option is selected (see red oval). 17) Close the window by clicking on the red button in the red circle at the top left of the security window as shown in the image below. 32
