KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Prof. Pablo Cortés Achedad, University of Seville, Spain Pablo Cortés Achedad is Full Professor in Industrial Engineering, PhD in Industrial Engineering from US Special Doctoral Award in Industrial Engineering US. Research interests focus on the fields: Soft Computing Computational Intelligence Operations Research transport and logistics energy efficiency and vertical transportation. Author/referee of academic articles in JCR journals such as: Applied Soft Computing Computers & Operations Research Interfaces International Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing Journal of the Operational Research Society International Journal of Production Research Simulation Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory Information Sciences y European Journal of Operational Research amongst others. He is member of the Editorial Board of Intelligent Control and Automation the International Journal of Computational Complexity and Intelligent Algorithms and Recent Patents in Computer Science. He has been also appointed as Guest Editor for several journals such as the International Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing or the Journal of Computational Science. Member of the research group Ingeniería de Organización TEP- 127 of US. He has been Project Leader in 7 projects of the Spanish Research and Development Programme as well as project leader in numerous technology transfer projects funded by PROFIT AVANZA or CENIT programmes. He is Leader Project in more than twenty research contracts with private companies and inventor of 4 patents with international extension. He is evaluator for the ANEP RTD Spanish Programme the 7th Framework Programme and Horizon 2020. He has been Academic Director of the IAT Engineering and Knowledge Management Chair and General Manager of the Office for Research and Technology Transfer in the University of Seville. Currently he is General Manager of Association for Industrial Cooperation in Andalusia (AICIA). 4
Prof. Cen Li, Middle Tennessee State University, USA Cen Li received B.S. (1993) in Computer Science from Middle Tennessee State University, and M.S. (1995) and Ph.D. (2000) in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University. Her teaching expertise is in Data Mining, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Li maintains an active research program. Her research projects involve the design and development of intelligent systems that extract useful and interesting patterns from large amounts of data, and computer supported instructional technology for Computer Science education. Dr. Li has more than 40 refereed research publications. She has been PI and co-pi on six grants from the National Science Foundation. She has served as the expert panel reviewer for the National Science Foundation. Dr. Li has been the program member of a number of international conferences. 5
Prof. Seppo J. Sirkemaa, University of Turku, Finland Dr Seppo Sirkemaa works at Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku. His office is at University Consortium of Pori. Dr Sirkemaa holds a Ph.D. and a master degree in information systems science from the Turku School of Economics and Business Administration. Dr Sirkemaa has worked at various academic positions, as professor of information systems management and as a research professor at Turku School of Economics and Business Administration. Dr Sirkemaa has been the vice director of Turku School of Economics and Business Administration, Pori Unit during 2003 2008. He has acted as professor in Entrepreneurship at University of Turku. Dr Sirkemaa has participated in several national and international research projects. He has also been active with conferences, for example as conference chair of the 14th International Conference on Telework ITA2009. He has guided numerous thesis projects, including some doctoral theses. He is active reviewer for several scientific academic journals and committee member of international conferences. Dr Sirkemaa has published over 90 academic publications. 6
PLENARY SPEAKER Prof. Malleswara Talla, Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada Malleswara Talla received M.Tech. degree from I.I.T., Kharagpur, India in 1981, and Ph.D. degree specializing Computer Communications & Networks from Concordia University, Montreal in 1995. He worked for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bombay, and Societe Internationale de Telecommunications Aeronautique (S.I.T.A), Equant Canada Inc., and Orange Business Services for several years. Dr. Talla managed several projects in data communications, computer networks, and business performance excellence during his professional career. Dr. Talla is currently working for the department of Supply Chain & Business Technology Management at John Molson School of Business (JMSB), Concordia University, Montreal. Dr. Talla is a member of Canadian Operations Research Society (CORS), Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Project Management Institute (PMI), Association for Operations Management (APICS), and The Institute for Internal Controls (THEIIC). His teaching and research interests are mainly in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Information systems, Process Re-engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Communications, Computer Networks, S/w Architecture, Design, and Development. Dr. Talla is a registered professional engineer in Canada. 7
Prof. Francisco Moo-Mena,Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY), Mexico Francisco Moo-Mena is a Professor in Computer Science at Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY), in Mérida, Mexico. From the Institut National Polytéchnique de Toulouse, in France, he received a Master Degree in Computer Science and a PhD (graduated with honors), in 2003 and 2007, respectively. He also received another Master Degree in Distributed Systems from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico, in 1997. He received a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Mérida, Mexico, in 1995. In 2002, he spent a summer at INRIA-Rhône Alpes, in France, collaborating as an visiting researcher for developing some communication protocols to use in heterogeneous robotics environments. Between 2005 and 2007, he was an active researcher in the European project Web-Service Diagnosability, Monitoring & Diagnosis (WS-DIAMOND), which was one of the very first projects related to Self-Healing Web Services. Since 2012, he heads the Distributed and Parallel Systems Group at UADY. Dr. Moo-Mena has published many papers in conferences and journals specialized in Distributed and Parallel Systems. His research interests include Autonomic Computing, Self-healing systems, Web services architectures, Semantic Web services, Data Science, Cloud Computing and Parallel Systems.
