4 Study management at ESCP Europe The World s First Business School (est. 1819) European Identity, Global Perspective: A European school open to the world Frank Bournois Dean of ESCP Europe With its five campuses in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid and Torino, ESCP Europe s true European identity enables the provision of a unique style of cross-cultural business education and an exceptional global perspective on international management issues. The international diversity of the students we recruit offers a multicultural experience which is one of the School s main assets and differentiators. Essential in today s global context, ESCP Europe provides the possibility to learn and improve several languages, either through dedicated courses or simply by living, studying and completing internships in different countries. As a direct result, our students speak three or more languages by the time they graduate. The School s alumni network counts approximately 45,000 members in 150 countries, representing 200 nationalities. Together with its long-standing relationships with national and multinational companies, this network allows ESCP Europe to provide unique career opportunities on an international scale. European Identity Global Perspective History of the World s First Business School (est. 1819) 1819 The World s First Business School is established by a group of economic scholars, businessmen, and entrepreneurs in Paris. Even at its debut ESCP Europe had a Global Perspective, with one third of its students coming from international backgrounds. 1973 The concept of a multicampus business school is born with the consecutive inaugurations of campuses in the United Kingdom and Germany. This establishes the School s deep European Identity. ESCP Europe is regularly ranked among the best business schools worldwide # 7 in the world: FT Master in Management 2014 ranking # 8 in the world: FT Master in Finance 2014 ranking # 2 worldwide for international course experience: FT Executive MBA 2013 ranking 5 ESCP Europe, the expert in cross-cultural management, at a glance 5ESCP Europe campuses in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid and Torino Triple accredited EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB 5,000 More than 130 academic alliances 100 More than worldwide 4,000 students in degree programmes representing different nationalities high-level participants in the School s executive education programmes research-active professors representing over 20 nationalities 45,000 90 affiliate and visiting 120 professors, and more than 700 practitioners and experts active alumni in more than 150 countries worldwide 1988 2004 Opening of the 4th campus in Madrid ESCP Europe enters Italy with its 5th campus in Torino Our Bachelor programme is a geat opportunity for students ready to take on the challenge of studying management across three countries and cultures. 6 Join our high-profile, multinational student body and study in different countries and cultural contexts The unique model of ESCP Europe is based upon its five campuses and offers the possibility of an integrated pan-european curriculum. This allows our students: to experience living and studying in different countries and cultural contexts without having to compromise on academic excellence to experience different academic approaches as well as to gain insight into the society, the culture and the economic environment of the different locations to benefit from our strong links to the corporate world in the different countries for internship offers and job opportunities ESCP Europe: one school with five doors in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid and Torino Paris The Paris campus is conveniently located in the centre of the city in the 11th arrondissement, a few steps away from Saint-Maur metro station. It was the first of ESCP Europe s five locations and hosts a large number of faculty members and students. 7 A three-year programme in three european countries Students change campuses with each new academic year, thereby getting to know the realities of three distinct countries and cultures. London Located in West Hampstead in northwest London, this campus offers students state-of-the-art facilities in a traditional Victorian building. The bright city lights and the business community are only a short tube ride away, while the fashionable area of West Hampstead offers a broad cultural experience away from the hustle and bustle of inner-city life. First year: Study in London, the world s international business hub Second year: Third year: Choose from three exciting cities: Madrid, Torino or Paris* Learn and live in Berlin, in the heart of the European continent All students start the programme in the same city, getting to know each other and learn about their respective backgrounds and experiences. During the second year, students choose from three different cities and will be physically split. However, they will still work and learn together through distance learning group work, thus benefitting from the relationships fostered with fellow students during the previous year. In today s ever more globalised world, it is essential to be able to work together in multinational teams with members spread over different locations. The third and final year once again brings all students together on the same campus to exchange and share their experiences from the previous year, as well as prepare for their next career steps. ESCP Europe s Bachelor is aimed high profile students who will continue to pursue their studies at Master level at renowned institutions throughout in the world or take a break from their education to start their professional career right away. Some graduates may also decide to stay at the School and apply for one of our various Master programmes. Berlin The Berlin campus is located near one of the historical centrepieces of Berlin, The Charlottenburg Castle. Located in baroque gardens, this monument overlooks the School s beautiful late-19th century building. Throughout the year, several events and conferences on the latest business issues take place in this dazzling city in the midst of Europe. Madrid Found in a residential suburb just view moments out of the city centre, the Madrid campus is an ideal place for students to focus their energy on the challenging demands of the programme. A short bus ride will bring students into the centre of Madrid and all that it has to offer. Torino The Torino campus is located in a beautiful building with modern facilities. Torino is one of the main business centres of the Italian economy, as well as a masterpiece of architecture and one of the favourite student cities in Italy. * Paris as a campus option for the second year will only be available from the 2016/17 intake onwards.

study management using an interdisciplinary approach embracing liberal arts, language & personal skills training During the three-year programme, our students learn about the various fields of business management and acquire the necessary background in economics and law, as well as the basics in maths and statistics applicable to the different management domains. We believe that learning about liberal arts and humanities gives students an important heads-up on the various ways one can think about different situations, contexts and realities. Therefore, students attend several liberal arts courses for them to get in-depth understanding of these important fields and their links to the management discipline. Students also develop a number of skill sets such as presentation and communication techniques, and training in several languages. Upon graduation, all of our students will have acquired fluency in at least three languages. Alongside several group work projects within the various courses, students will apply their acquired knowledge to two collective projects, working on a range of subjects and events in line with their personal interests. Internships and/or an additional social impact project also provide the possibility to put learned concepts and techniques into practice. Finally, a Bachelor thesis completes the students academic path. Focus on the learning of languages Languages form an important part of ESCP Europe s Bachelor programme, with the aim being that all our students speak three languages upon graduation. To make this possible, we provide highclass language courses that are adapted to each student s level during the three years. During the first year all courses are provided in English. During the second semester of the second year, some courses in Madrid and Paris will be taught in Spanish and French respectively; while all courses offered in Torino are in English. In the third year some of the elective courses will be offered in German, with those not speaking German following electives taught in English. 8 9 What it means to study at ESCP Europe Small group pedagogy allowing for in-class interactivity and regular face-to-face time with international, top-notch faculty Management, economics and law Liberal arts and humanities Personal skills and languages Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Introduction to business administration and organisation Financial accounting Micro-economics Law 1: European institutions and comparative political systems Mathematics Statistics 1 Introduction to psychology and sociology International relations and world history Presentation, discussion and rhetoric skills Computer skills Languages Finance Financial statement analysis and cost accounting Marketing Macro-economics Law 2: Contract and corporate business law International business law and taxation Statistics 2 Advanced statistics Key scientific and technological issues in business Intercultural skills Languages International management and strategy Operations and information systems CSR and business ethics Management electives International economics Liberal arts electives Academic writing skills Languages Multinational teamwork and development of the intercultural skills highly appreciated by employers in an ever more globalised world Practical real-life cases and business simulations to prepare students for their first steps in the corporate world In-depth development of written competencies, of presentation and rhetorical skills Collective projects to trigger student initiatives, developing creativity and entrepreneurial spirit Internships and social projects facilitated by our links to the corporate and institutional world, providing our students with their first true professional experiences Collective projects, internships, thesis Project 1 Project 2 Social impact project or Internship 1 Business game Internship 2 Bachelor thesis ECTS 60 ECTS 60 ECTS 60 ECTS

They regularly publish their work within leading international outlets, and are active members of national and international research networks. Moreover, each faculty member regularly participates in consulting activities and as such stays closely connected to the business world. Corporate life and internships Innovative pedagogy based upon case studies, classes given by visiting executives and ESCP Europe s partnerships with leading companies and organisations ensure the link between in-class theory and the reality of the business world. The social impact project and integrated internships are a key aspect of this approach. 10 Argyro Avgoustaki Greek PhD (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), Professor of Intercultural Management With its culturally-diverse student body, teaching courses in intercultural management at ESCP Europe provides a fantastic opportunity for in-class discussions and sharing of real-life experiences 11 Othman Cole British PhD (Judge Business School, University of Cambridge), Professor of Finance Teaching students at ESCP Europe is a remarkable opportunity to share and discuss cutting-edge knowledge with highly talented individuals who continually impress me. Leon Laulusa Lao-Chinese PhD (Paris-Dauphine University), Professor of Financial Accounting Véronique Tran Swiss PhD (University of Geneva), Professor of Organisational Behaviour Valentina Carbone Italian PhD (Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées), Professor of Supply Chain Management Michael Haenlein German PhD (WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management), Professor of Marketing Teaching to me means using key research findings to stimulate clever and demanding students to look at things from new angles. To be able to teach students who combine strong intercultural, interpersonal, and highly quantitative skills is a real pleasure - but also a challenge. Our students obtain the necessary basics in maths, statistics and economics to be able to understand the underlying mechanisms in the management theories and concepts we teach them. This gives them an important competitive advantage in today s job market. Teaching students from all over the world is truly valuable for a professor; learning to grasp the real diversity of backgrounds and cultures in our student body translates into an amazing human experience.
