College of Public Service Master of Public Administration Graduate Program Welcome! Welcome to the College of Business and to the Master of Public Administration! This document is for new Public Administration graduate students and will help you with registration for your first trimester at the University of New Haven. Please read it carefully and if you have any questions please contact the program advisor whose contact information is provided below. A total of 42 graduate credits are required for completion of the Master of Public Administration. The program consists of nine required courses (27 credits) plus five courses (15 credits) that may be taken as unrestricted electives or used to complete one of the five concentrations in the master s program. The following concentrations are available: City Management Community Clinical Services Health Care Management Long Term Health Care Concentration Personnel & Labor Relations Concentration You don t need to choose a concentration immediately. No waivers, substitutions, or transfer credits are permitted in this concentration. There are two options for the concentration in Long Term Care. Please contact the program coordinator prior to selecting an option as the State of Connecticut has different requirements for each.

Option I This option consists of 15 concentration credits and 42 total program credits. HCAD 6646 Organization and Management of Long Term Care Facilities HCAD 6683 Long Term Health Care Internship Two Health Care Electives One Restricted Elective Concentration in Personnel and Labor Relations Students choosing this concentration take the required core curriculum of nine courses and follow the 15 credit Personnel and Labor Relations concentration in lieu of the five elective courses.
