1 Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration (Management Emphasis) Pre-Calculus (Math ) Required Catalog The Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration program provides students with a liberal arts education paired with strong professional preparation in business. This undergraduate degree s course of study equips students to solve business problems through the application of the basic tools in accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, technology and quantitative methods. Students earning a bachelor s degree in business administration learn to communicate in a clear and effective manner, both orally and in writing, and gain awareness of global business challenges and contemporary ethical issues confronting the business sector. Graduates also possess an awareness of the operation of the institutions of the American economy and how these institutions compare and interact with those of other countries. A B.S. in Business Administration degree program also offers students the opportunity to emphasize their studies in a particular area. Emphases are offered in: Business Economics Entrepreneurship Finance International Business Management Marketing Real Estate Students may pursue one or more emphases in the business administration major. An emphasis is satisfied by taking fifteen credits from among the upper division electives listed for that emphases. Only one course may be counted for more than one emphasis. The emphasis area is noted on the transcript. Internship and individual study credits do not count toward an emphasis. Every organization wants to attract, motivate, and retain the most qualified employers and match them to jobs for which they are best suited. Human resources, training, and labor relations managers and specialists provide this connection. In the past, these employees performed the administrative function of an organization, such as handling employee benefits questions or recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new staff in accordance with policies established by top management. Today s human resources workers manage these tasks, but, increasingly, they consult with top executives regarding strategic planning. They have moved from behind-the-scenes staff work to leading the company in suggesting and changing policies. For more information, please visit the Argyros School Course Catalog.
