STUDY ABROAD IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT. SYDNEY MANLY, AUSTRALIA 2015/2016

STUDY ABROAD YOUR STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM The International College of, Sydney (ICMS) offers a study abroad program with full academic transfer to your home institution. STUDY LOAD At ICMS you can undertake 3 or 4 subjects during your semester abroad. That s approximately 12-16 hours of class time per week. ACADEMIC SUPPORT To help you settle in and help you throughout your time at ICMS, experienced academic staff and counselors are available should you need them. PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT ICMS equips students with the selfdiscipline they will need when they start their careers; whether it be in the way they dress or the way they communicate. Students must bring a business suit with them to wear to class. OPTIONAL INTERNSHIPS ICMS has developed two unique internship programs allowing you to combine your Study Abroad experience with international work experience. Option 1: Internship for Credit Take 4 academic subjects plus an internship as a 5th subject or take 3 academic subjects and have the internship count as your 4th subject. Which option you choose will depend on your home university s study abroad and internship requirements. This internship will involve 10 hours per week in a Sydney based company completing a set task or project as assigned by the employer. There is also an academic component to this internship which involves weekly journals, final project and a presentation. You can study any major to apply for this internship option but must have a GPA of 3.0 to apply. No previous work experience or internship is necessary. For more information on this new internship for credit option please visit: icms.edu.au/courses/studyabroad/internshipforcredit Option 2: One Trimester Internship If you choose to study abroad for 2 trimesters at ICMS, you can opt to take your 2nd trimester as a full time internship. This option is great if you need to complete an internship for your home university degree or simply want to gain international work experience in your field of study. During your 1st trimester of academic study, ICMS will help you with interview technique, resume building and the industry professional standards you require to be successful in your internship. In addition to meeting the standard Study Abroad program entry requirements you need to have at least 600 hours of previous work experience related to your field of study. You must also be a Hospitality, Tourism, Business or Event major* to apply for this internship. For more information on this new 1 trimester internship option please visit: icms.edu.au/courses/studyabroad/onetrimesterinternship * If you are from another major please contact us and we will establish if there is a suitable internship position for you.
