4 Study options The University of Adelaide has three options for students who want to undertake short-term study: Study Abroad, Exchange or Summer and Winter School. Study Abroad > > Students may enrol for one or two semesters of study (February or July start). > > Students may enrol and get credit for undergraduate or postgraduate courses across different disciplines. > > Students pay tuition fees to the University of Adelaide. > > Students may apply through their home university, through an agent, third party provider or directly to the University of Adelaide. > > The study program can include an internship Tuition fees 12-unit Study Abroad program (100% work load - 4 courses) 9-unit Study Abroad program (75% work load - 3 courses) 3-unit Study Abroad Program (25% work load - 1 course) $10,800 $8,100 $2,700 Exchange > > Students may enrol for one or two semesters of study (February or July start). > > Students may enrol in undergraduate or postgraduate courses across different disciplines. > > Student s home university has a formal exchange partner agreement with the University of Adelaide. Entry Academic > > Students should have completed at least one year of study at their home university. > > Students need to provide a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or grades equivalent to a B/credit average. Exchange students should liaise with their exchange advisor for specific academic. English language Students whose first language is not English will need to provide evidence of English language proficiency. General English language IELTS TOEFL (paper based) TOEFL (internet based) Pearson test of English CAE (Cambridge English: Advanced) Overall band score of at least 6.0 writing and speaking 6.0 reading and listening 5.5 Total score of 550 Test of written english (TWE) 4 Total score of 60 writing 21 speaking 18 reading and listening 8 Overall score of 58 writing and speaking 58 reading and listening Please note, the test must have been taken within the past two years. Higher English language Law, Health Sciences and Education require higher English language proficiency. Alternative proof of English language proficiency Students who have completed their secondary schooling in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden or Switzerland may submit alternative evidence of their English language proficiency (except for Law, Health Sciences and Education). Please refer to website for further information about English language entry. Academic English pathways Pre-enrolment English Program (PEP) Students who do not meet the English language entry may consider enrolling in a Pre-enrolment English Program. This is a direct entry pathway into your Study Abroad or Exchange studies at the University of Adelaide. The length of your program depends on your current level of English, either a 20, 15 or 10 weeks program. General English for Academic Purposes (GEAP) Students who do not have an English proficiency score may enrol in General English for Academic Purposes program. This program allows students to develop their English language skills and in the end of the program the students will sit a TOEFL test, either to allow transfer to PEP or direct entry to the university. 6 Accommodation > > Specialist accommodation service and support > > University-managed and endorsed accommodation 15 minutes walk from campus > > Rental housing database just for students The University understands that accommodation plays an important part in building a solid foundation for academic success. Our Accommodation Service assists Study Abroad and Exchange students to obtain suitable housing. Students may opt for one of the following options. >Urbanest > - purpose built student accommodation in the city centre and only a few minutes walk from the University campus. Apartments accommodate 4-6 students with a shared kitchen and living room. Each student enjoys their own modern, fully furnished room with an ensuite bathroom and wireless internet connection. >The > Village - purpose built student accommodation which is run and managed by the University of Adelaide. Apartments and townhouses accommodate 4-5 students with a shared kitchen and living room. Rooms are fully-furnished and most rooms have their own en suite bathroom and wireless internet connection. > > St Marks College - a 20 minute walk from the North Terrace campus; St Marks offers a social environment with single study bedrooms, shared-bathrooms three meals per day and computers in every room. > > Roseworthy Residential College - the college offers accommodation for students studying at the Roseworthy campus. >Homestay > - students can immerse themselves in Australian culture and live with a local Australian family. > > Private house/flat share - students can find their own accommodation in Adelaide as it offers them the opportunity to live independently. Airport pick-up and temporary accommodation Temporary accommodation and arrival reception services are available to commencing Study Abroad and Exchange students. Students can book an arrival reception service and a University representative will meet students at the airport and transport them to their accommodation. Students who do not want to secure long-term accommodation prior to arrival in Adelaide may reserve up to seven nights at the University-managed temporary accommodation.
