TRADE CAREERS AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE
TRADE CAREERS AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE
Introduction Introduction By The Chief Of The Defence Force Perhaps the most fundamental challenge the Defence Force faces is how to match our recruitment of sailors, soldiers and airmen and women to our current and future capability needs. In the sophisticated, high-technology environment that best describes our Forces, and how we operate, this is particularly important with regards to our skilled tradespeople. Simply put, we need to continue to recruit people into these trades to sustain and maintain our capability. There are great benefits to those who pursue a technical trade career path. Australian Defence Force trainees are very well paid during their training, and receive even better pay once qualified. Technical trade training within the Australian Defence Force is first rate and our Technical Training Schools utilise first class facilities and provide Australian Quality Training Framework nationally recognised trade qualifications. These facilities also provide for social and recreational activities as well as the technical training. Upon completion of your training, a career in the Australian Defence Force will provide you with ongoing training to further enhance your skills, and a dedicated progression path through your chosen career. A Defence Force career is a great opportunity to do something really worthwhile in serving our country whilst working with great people. The Guide to ADF Technical Training Schools provides a snapshot of our four major Technical Trade Training Schools where all ADF trade recruits undertake their initial trade employment training. The Guide provides important information about each location, its environment, its facilities and social and sporting amenities available to technical trade trainees during their course of study. I wish you the best of luck in your chosen trade career. CONTENTS COURSE GUIDE HMAS CERBERUS Army Logistic Training Centre Defence Force School of Signals A. G.
