2 FC 11 Diploma of Football The FC 11 Diploma of Football offers a unique blend of high performance soccer education and training which has been specifically designed for the sport of football and its related industries. This program is offered on a full-time basis for four days a week over two semesters, totalling 30 weeks. The program provides the skills and knowledge for individuals who are intending to pursue a career in sport development, for example: > > the elite soccer player and/or the developing athlete seeking to further their own professional opportunities > > the individual aspiring to work in competition and event management, sporting facility operations, program design and development, athlete performance and talent development, team and athlete coaching and conditioning. The diploma has been designed in consultation with industry experts and Sydney TAFE to meet the demands of modern day soccer and its associated career opportunities. The program merges sports science, coaching methodology, high performance training, personal academic development, mentoring by current professional players and business theory. All graduates will be provided with an opportunity to train and work within a full-time professional environment, preparing them for a career in football or the wider context of sports management and administration. The participants will be trained with a holistic approach to education and training, and an individual training plan will be prepared for each participant to achieve desired outcomes. Extensive assistance and resources will be provided to all participants in preparing their personal performance profiles, videos and supporting evidence for future playing and employment opportunities. All successful graduates will be awarded a nationally accredited qualification - Diploma of Sport Development [SIS50612] by Sydney TAFE. This qualification will allow eligible graduates an opportunity to continue into higher education pathways by recognised articulation and credit transfer arrangements with Sydney TAFE s education partners or other higher education providers. Students may be eligible to enter into the first or second year of degree level study depending on their preferred higher education provider.

For more information visit Facilities The FC 11 Diploma of football campus is based at Melbourne University Sport, Building 103, situated at The University of Melbourne, City campus, Parkville. Victoria. The facilities at Melbourne University Sport are considered as some of the very best in Melbourne. The facility is the equivalent to an 'athlete high performance institute' level environment. Facilities in the Sports Centre sector include 6 squash courts, a Group Cycling Studio, 'Mind-Body Studio', Cardio Box Studio, Massage & Physiotherapy Clinic and 2 Multi-purpose stadiums. In addition, the Beaurepaire Centre, which includes a 25m, six-lane heated indoor lap pool, the 850m2 two level Strength & Fitness Gym provides the latest pin-loaded and free weight gym equipment as well as a mezzanine cardio zone with inspiring views overlooking the athletics track and sports fields and a personal training studio.

6 A typical day The FC 11 Diploma of Football is delivered over four days a week, between 9.00am 4.00pm. Session 1: (9.00am 11.00am) Applied practical sessions in maintaining high performance: Athlete recovery and performance management, athlete fitness profiling and conditioning, the fundamental concepts of football. Session 2: (11.00am 1.00pm) Sports development and management theory: Managing projects, events, facilities, personnel, marketing, program design, safety and legal responsibilities in sport and recreation. Session 3: (2.00pm 4.00pm ) Coaching and conditioning for optimal performance: Talent identification, performance psychology, athlete nutrition, exercise science, strength and conditioning, coaching, recovery and injury prevention.

7 Enrolment process Eligibility and selection In order to become eligible for the FC 11 Diploma of Football, players will need to provide the following: > > player/sporting history and profile > > evidence of academic history including Year 11 and/or Year 12 results > > proof of Australian residency or citizenship > > Completed FC 11 application form. FC11 will provide a written offer of placement to successful applicants together with a Sydney TAFE course enrolment form and all related information.
