Career Training at the Delaware Area Career Center Emergency Medical Technician Basic North Campus 162 hours $1,095 This is a State of Ohio Division of EMS accredited course that consists of classroom and hands-on training for all aspects of the job duties of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) including bleeding control, airway control maneuvers, anatomy and physiology of the human body and emergency intervention. This course meets the State of Ohio Division of EMS and the EMT National Standards. Students will also receive CPR certification at no additional cost. Monday / Wednesday / Friday 6/8/2015-7/29/2015 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Firefighter I & II North Campus 260 hours $2,430 This course consists of classroom and hands-on training covering all aspects of firefighting including live fire training. Throughout this course, you will learn about engine and ladder company operations, building construction, fire behavior, fire prevention, sprinkler systems, communications, fire attack, and much more. It will also consist of a 16 hour Emergency Vehicle Driving Course and 4 hours of Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives. This course meets and exceeds the NFPA 1001 Standards of fire training and leads to the highest level of fire certification in the State of Ohio. The student will also obtain HAZ/MAT training and certification at the Awareness and Operations level. Upon completion of this fire course, individuals will be required to pass all practical testing and successfully pass an on-line test for the State of Ohio, Department of Public Safety. This test is proctored and administered at our facility. This training is the minimum training to become a full-time firefighter. 1/27/2015-5/18/2015 5:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training Academy South Campus 606 hours $3,780 The training program meets all requirements of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council (OPOTC). The academy staff consists of instructors from area law enforcement agencies, and other state enforcement agencies. This program is mandated by the state of Ohio to allow its graduates to serve as commissioned peace officers in the state. Successful completion of this program will allow the individual to receive the basic police officer certificate upon appointment to a law enforcement agency. Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday Some Sunday hours may also be required 2/10/2015-8/22/2015 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nurse Aide Training Program (STNA) South Campus 84 hours $598 This course of study provides instruction on utilizing a humanistic approach to providing basic care to people in a variety of health care settings. Students will understand how health care systems operate and will learn the skills necessary to function safely and efficiently in a health care setting. Students will learn the information and practical skills necessary for taking and passing the certification exam required by the state. Wednesday 4/8/2015-5/23/2015 Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday 6/12/2015-6/26/2015 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 7:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. CISCO Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) Certification South Campus 224 hours $2,500 This course prepares students for the CISCO Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) examination and covers the basics of networking, LANs and WANs. There will be hands-on practice with routers and switches. Students complete a threaded case study project in which they design a complete multi-site network. This program includes CISCO s online lessons, classroom lectures, demonstrations, and many labs. 3/3/2015-11/12/2015

CPR for the Healthcare Provider 4 hours $75 This is a one day course that provides lecture and hands-on instruction in bag valve ventilation, foreign body airway obstruction, and one and two person cardio pulmonary resuscitation for adults, children and infants. Students will receive American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) certification upon successful completion of the course. American Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross (ARC) courses are available on request Tuesday 5/20/2015 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 6/25/2015 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EMT Refresher 36 hours $200 This is a State of Ohio Division of EMS accredited EMT Refresher course that also meets the requirements for the National Standards Transition course. The course includes the hours required for Trauma, Pediatrics, Geriatrics and an approved Trauma Triage presentation. This course meets the State of Ohio Division of EMS and the EMT National Standards. 4/2/2015-4/28/2015 Emergency Medical Responder 48 hours $400 This is a State of Ohio Division of EMS accredited course that consists of classroom and hands-on training regarding all aspects of the job duties of an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) including bleeding control, airway control maneuvers, basic anatomy and physiology of the human body and emergency intervention. This course meets the State of Ohio Division of EMR and the EMR National Standards. Students will also receive CPR certification at no additional cost. 2/17/2015-3/26/2015 Volunteer Firefighter 36 hours $395 This course consists of classroom and hands-on training covering fire behavior, personal protective equipment, safety, ladders, extinguishers, fire department tools and equipment and much more. Upon completion of this course, individuals will be required to pass a practical test and then successfully pass an on-line test for the State of Ohio, Department of Public Safety. Monday /Tuesday / Wednesday Some s 2/23/2015-3/9/2015 6/8/2015-6/22/2015 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Self Defense Against Criminal Attack 4 hours $45 The world has changed with the increased frequency of criminal attacks. Many of these attacks occur in schools and businesses that we visit on a daily basis. The purpose of this class is to teach others what to do when facing someone who is armed with a gun or a knife. This exciting class teaches how to get into the mind of criminals as they select targets to attack. Learn strategies to avoid confrontations and practice intervention techniques that may help save a life. This class will include basic self defense techniques that anyone can perform as well as tactics for dealing with armed individuals. Individuals should be 12 years of age or older. Wear comfortable clothing as this will be a very active class. Wednesday 2/25/2015 4/22/2015 6:00-10:00 p.m.

Welding 24 hours $375 Through this course, the student will develop the strength, work ethic and stamina necessary for a career in fabrication. Students will begin with stick welding and then proceed to MIG and TIG. The course will also cover specialty rods such as cast iron and aluminum. The students can certify with the instructor if they make arrangements and pay independently for the certification. Cost of certification not included in the tuition. Students are expected to bring safety glasses to class. Monday / Tuesday 3/2/2015-3/24/2015 4/6/2015-4/28/2015 MS Word 2013 Introductory This course will introduce the basic features of Microsoft Word. It is designed for computer users who are new to word processing. Students will learn how to create, format and edit a word processing document, set tabs and paragraph indents, create bulleted and numbered lists, proof your documents and create envelopes and labels. Pre-requisite: a familiarity with computers. 2/3/2015-2/12/2015 MS Word 2013 Intermediate This course will introduce the intermediate features of Microsoft Word. These include working with documents templates, adding headers and footers, working with columns, creating outlines, creating tables, using borders and shading, inserting graphics, working with drawing tools and performing mail merges. Pre-requisite: the MS 2010 Introductory course or equivalent work experience. 2/17/2015-2/26/2015 MS Excel 2013 Introductory This course will introduce the basic features of Microsoft Excel. It is designed for those who are new to spreadsheets. Students will be introduced to basic spreadsheet knowledge, data entry, formatting, printing, introduction to formulas, absolute and relative addressing and simple charting. Prerequisite: a familiarity with computers. 3/3/2015-3/12/2015 MS Excel 2013 Intermediate This course will introduce the intermediate features of Microsoft Excel. Students will review the basic operations of Excel and move to more advanced topics such as custom number formatting, conditional formatting, working with ranges, statistical functions, financial functions, logical functions, data lists and customizing charts. Pre-requisite: MS 2010 Introductory course or equivalent work experience. 3/17/2015-3/26/2015 Photoshop Introductory This course will introduce the Adobe Photoshop CS6 on the Apple OSX Operating System. Students will learn the basics of Photoshop by doing hands-on tutorials through the Adobe Online Curriculum. Students will develop understanding of layers, basic tools, selection, shortcuts and more. Each skill will be reinforced with a hands-on assignment. 4/7/2015-4/16/2015

Photoshop Lab This lab will build on the foundations and fundamentals learned in the Photoshop Introductory course. There will be less instruction and more project based work to reinforce intermediate skills of using Photoshop. Projects include developing a poster, magazine cover, face blend and a billboard. 4/21/2015-4/30/2015 Motorcycle Ohio The Delaware Area Career Center serves as a site for Motorcycle Ohio classes. Classes take place at the North and South campuses.
