Pain Medicine 2016 Highlights Barbara Adams (BScPT) is the Sole Physiotherapist running the only Chronic Pain and Balance and Dizziness Program in Nova Scotia since 2009. She is also the Clinical Director of PhysioCare at Home and manages 15 Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists for Nova Scotia s largest home care Physiotherapy company. She has published 2 papers in reputed journals and has completed a number of clinical studies on chronic pain and fatigue that have been presented at various provincial and national conferences. Barbara received the Morris B. Kophler award (NS Rehab Hospital) for care of long-term patients. She was the Neurosciences Dept. Supervisor in London Ontario and was the sole physiotherapist at the NS Environmental Health Centre for 11 years. Barbara created the first assessment and treatment guidelines for Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Environmental Sensitivities and initiated a number of research studies there. She worked for the Capital District Health Authority (CDHA) for 18 years. She has written a book titled the Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Owner s Manual 2014.
