Reliability in the work place is the single most valued employee trait in today's job market. The following attendance rules will apply to both secondary and post-secondary students enrolled in the HST program. Attendance will be calculated and applied to each nine-week grading period. Students will be required to be in attendance approximately 90% of the time. This means that a student cannot miss more the 5 days in a nine-week period. All students entering the health science program must meet health and safety requirements. Documentation of all immunizations including Hepatitis B, proof of immunity, and documentation of negative status for tuberculosis (TB) or negative TB skin test prior to starting clinicals. A clinical facility may require a current drug test and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, OSBI, background check. Facility computer training and safety training will also be required. Students must be willing to do clinical rotations in a nursing home, hospital, and other medical facilities in order to complete the required curriculum. COLLEGE CREDIT-CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT College credit is unavailable at this time. FINANCIAL AID Although there is NO TUITION for high school students, the following information is provided for students who are planning on continuing their education by applying for the License Practical Nursing, LPN, program after high school graduation. To qualify for financial aid, students will need to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA, form and enroll in a career major that is at least 0 hours. Application forms may be obtained from the financial aid coordinator, Monica Cox. Please have documentation of high school graduation or G.E.D. completion.
