THIS IS THE RACKET MASTERS! ACCOMMODATION Please read the below info about the two different accommodation options: Athlete s Village or Tournament Hotel. This year, there are limited rooms available in the tournament hotel where possible we recommend you stay in the Athlete s Village. However, please contact duncan.stahl@aureus-sv.com with all your accommodation requests and you will be sent back information about how to book and pay for your accommodation. ATHLETE S VILLAGE Situated in Surrey Sports Park are these high quality blocks of self-catering accommodation. There is a cafe and bar in the Village serving food and drinks and a large supermarket only 5 mins walk away. Each player gets their own private room with key card (only one person per room), with single bed, en-suite bathroom and free internet (see pic below). Rooms will be cleaned, fresh sheets and towels provided for every day of your stay. There is also a large kitchen that is shared between rooms which includes a large fridge, freezer, cooker, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron and board (see pic below). If there are groups of players, or families, who all want share the same apartment (each apartment has either 4,5,6,7 or 8 separate, private rooms) then let us know and we can book this for you.
The Athlete s Village at the Racket Masters 2015 is set to be a great experience for all players, either on their own or in a group, with a fantastic social atmosphere, very comfortable facilities with each player getting their own private room and bathroom and all only 5 mins from the Sports Centre! It has a good restaurant, a late night bar and all players will also get free access to the hotel s swimming pool and gym. There are single rooms, double/twin rooms and a small number of triple rooms, all with en suite bathrooms and Satellite TV, but this year we only have a limited amount of rooms available in the Hotel so please get in contact very soon. TRAVEL Can all foreign players traveling by plane or Eurostar please email raymond_jordan@hotmail.com with your travel plans. This is very important! By Plane Gatwick is the easiest airport to fly into. Heathrow as a second choice. Stansted and Luton airports are not recommended they take far longer and involve several changes through London. Gatwick Airport Make your way to Gatwick Airport Railway station, which is located at the south terminal. If your flight arrives at the north terminal there is a short shuttle that connects the two terminals. At the railway station, take a First Great Western direct train to Guildford direct trains operate once per hour. The journey takes 40 minutes and costs approximately 10 each way. At Guildford Station you will be met and transferred to Surrey Sports Park which will take 5 minutes. The service number is Woking Railair WR701. If you land at terminal 4, then make your way to terminal 5 to catch the coach. (At the moment terminal 2 is being refurbished and is due to open in June. When we know travel plans from there we will update this section.) The journey from Heathrow to Woking takes 30-45 minutes and costs approximately 10 each way. The coach stops at Woking railway station. From there you will be met and transferred to Surrey Sports Park which will take approximately 20 minutes. From here, take the Underground to Waterloo station (to do this, take the red central line to Tottenham Court Rd, then the black northern line down to Waterloo.) From here, take a train to Guildford Station where you will be met and transferred to Surrey Sports Park. The journey from Stansted to Guildford will take approximately 2.5 hours as this is considerably further as it is the other side of London. Luton Airport Take a bus to Luton Airport Parkway railway station. From here, take a train to London St Pancras station. Then, take the Underground to Waterloo (to do this, take the dark blue Piccadilly line to Leicester Square, then the black northern line to Waterloo.) From here, take a train to Guildford where you will be met and transferred to Surrey Sports Park. The journey from Luton to Guildford will take approximately 3 hours as this is considerably further as it is the other side of London. By train: If coming from Europe and taking the Eurostar you will arrive in St Pancras International, London. From here, take the Underground to Waterloo (to do this, take the dark blue Piccadilly line to Leicester Square, then the black northern line to Waterloo.) From here, take a train to Guildford where you will be met and transferred to Surrey Sports Park. The journey from St Pancras to Guildford will take just over 1 hour. Surrey GU2 7AD Guildford is 30 miles south-west of London, on the A3 London-Portsmouth road. If approaching from London or the M25 (Junction 10), remain on the bypass (A3) until you reach the exit signed to the Cathedral and University. At the roundabout take the third exit signposted Royal Surrey County Hospital and University, Manor Park. Simply follow the signs to the Royal Surrey County Hospital for approximately a mile, and approach Surrey Sports Park on the left. Turn left at the traffic lights onto Richard Meyjes Road, which leads to the entrance of Surrey Sports Park. ENTRY CLASSES Players may enter a maximum of 3 classes. Those Players who enter an age group category may enter a maximum of 4 classes - Men playing in 2 over-age categories may only play in categories next to each other, such as O45 and O50, or O60 and O65. They cannot for example, play in O45 and O55. The Tournament Entry Deadline is Friday 24 th July 2015.
