General The TCR easy Plus Alarm from now on known as TC device is a remote switching and alarming device. It allows the switching of one electrical device and can send off two alarm messages via the telephone network. Each of the two alarm inputs can automatically dial three phone numbers and notify with a voice message, if an alarm input has been activated by a connected contact. Both alarm inputs can seperately be activated or deactivated. 4 The switching takes place with DTMF-signals (DTMF= Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency). This can either be performed with a DTMF-telephone or a DTMF pocket dialer. Individual user data are easy to program by a telephone call. The operation is supported by announcements. You can choose between three languages. The TC device is built in a housing for mounting on a DIN-rail (4 module width). The switching functions can be carried out via the telephone line as well as with the built-in push-buttons (see page 6). They will be protected by use of a 4-digit code number. All settings and switching states of the outputs will be saved during a power failure and be restored after the return of power.

Installation The mounting and installation of the TC device in an electrical distribution box must be performed by a qualified electrician. Pay attention to actual norms, in order to fulfill the general safety requirements for telecommunication systems and to avoid disturbing interferences. A physical separation or suitable partition wall must be provided (clearance or shielding). Putting into Operation 1 Connect the subscriber line at the screw terminals La and Lb (ring and tip) of the device. Additional telephone jacks can be connected to terminal a2 and b2 (see page 6). The device can also be connected at an extension of a telephone system. The upper terminal block has to be pulled out for connection of the wires. 2 The terminals L1 and N must be connected with 230-V-mains (see page 6). The terminals can hold wires up to max. 1 x 1.5 mm². 3 The wiring for the device must carried out according to the diagram on page 6. 5

Installation Connection of the TC Device Legend: S1: external push-button M1/M2: inputs Hint: For the local operation of the output, an external pushbutton can be connected, which is electrically connected parallel to the integrated on/off-push-button. Attention: Use appropriate fuses for the circuit according to the max. contact load (see technical data, page 25) 6

Installation Factory Settings The default settings of the delivery state can be restored any time by pressing both push-buttons until the LEDs start blinking while powering up the TC device. The right column can be used to note your own settings. The following parameter are factory defaults: Alarm input 1 Alarm phone no. 1: none Alarm phone no. 2: none Alarm phone no. 3: none State: active Alarm input 2 Alarm phone no. 1: none Alarm phone no. 2: none Alarm phone no. 3: none State: active Own phone no.: none Answering machine mode: off Ringing signals: 2 Code number: 0000 No. of dial attempts: 12 Own settings: _ 7

Function Operation State Request The automatic call acceptance will be activated with the push-button. The assigned LED lights up. The device seizes the telephone line after reception of the programmed number of ringing signals (see page 11 and 18). With the S1 pushbutton the device connected to the output can be switched on or off. The assigned LED S1 indicates the switching state (LED lit = on). The LED starts blinking after receiving the first ringing signal. 8 After calling and seizure of the telephone line, the language selection (at the first call) as well as correct entry of the code number the state of the connected device can be checked via the telephone with DTMF (#), switch the device on or off (0, 1, 6) or modify the individual settings of the TC device (9) like alarm phone numbers, own phone number, answering machine mode, ringing signals, code number, number of dial attempts or language. Call the TC device and dial the code number. Please dial a device number. input state 10 switch off device 11 switch on device 16 impulse mode (1 s) 1# state request Impulse mode. The device 1 is turned off/on.

Operation If a confirmation does not take place, alarm messages will be announced at the programmed alarm phone number up until the programmed number of dial attempts has been reached. There is a two minute break between the dial attempts, independent from whether or not the called party has answered the call. 10 Alarm Phone Numbers and De-/Activating Inputs If a contact is activated, the programmed alarm phone number will automatically be called. A telephone connected at the terminals a2/b2 will be switched off during the alarm by a relay of the TC device. Alarms occuring during a remote switching session (the TC device has the telephone line already in use), will be processed after releasing the telephone line. Each of the three up to 24- digits phone numbers can be programmed in the menu settings under input 1/2. At the same position the appropriate input can be activated ( 4 ). Own Phone Number If the TC device sends off an alarm message via the telephone line, it will first announce the own phone number. The own phone number (max. 24 digits) will be programmed in the menu settings ( 3 ).

Operation Answering Machine Mode Ringing Signal Setting Code Number In order to address a connected answering machine instead of the TC device via the telephone line, the device can be set to an answering machine mode in the menu settings ( 4 ). If the answering machine mode has been activated, the TC device will not switch on at an incoming call. If the caller releases the telephone line after one ringing signal, waits at least 10 seconds and calls again within 60 seconds, the TC device switches on after the first ringing signal. The amount of ringing signals until the TC device answers the call can be set in the menu settings ( 5 ). The default setting is 2. If the answering machine mode is activated, the amount of ringing signals is not significant. The four digit code number can be set in the menu settings ( 6 ). In delivery state the code number 0000 is set. If the code number 1111 is set, the testing of the code number is left out (see page 24). The connection will be released, after entering the wrong code number three times. The default settings can be restored by a procedure (see page 7), if you have forgotten your code number. Attention: All individual settings will be erased. 11

Operation Number of Dial Attempts Language Setting Procedures The number of alarm calls carried out by the TC device can be set from 1 to 12 ( 7 ). The programmed phone numbers will be called on after the other until the programmed number of dial attempts has beenreached. 12 The language of the announcements can be selected with digit 8. It can be chosen from German, English and Dutch. For programming the parameters the phone line of the TC device must be called from a telephone. After entering the code number, the menu settings can be selected by dialing the digit 9. The menu will start with the following announcement described as setting announcement in the examples: Settings. To set the alarm phone numbers, press one for input 1 and press two for input 2. To set your own phone number, press three. To set the answering machine mode, press four.
