THE POSITION VoP Grade Region/ Asset Location Job Summary TBC Global IT & Technology: Global Advanced Technologies Reading This is a new role in the new Global IT & Technology organisation, fulfilling the position of in the Global Advanced Technologies function in BG Group, to identity and pilot innovative Subsurface Solutions to support the BG business. The will champion the assessment of emerging technologies, being responsible for turning technology innovation into business results by personally sponsoring the identification and piloting of leading edge, implementable technologies for the in BG. The individual will shape and guide the identification and development of technology solutions in order to support the Subsurface functional excellence strategies, Fit For the Future (FFF) Originate and Explore and asset operations philosophies. The will in partnership with the relevant functions create a vision of how technology will shape the future for Subsurface and identify with the business the next wave of cutting-edge solutions, enabling Global IT&T to support the in realising excellence, whether the goal is to improve operations, cut costs or deliver new products and services. The individual will track a broad range of emerging technologies to determine their maturity and applicability to the Subsurface function, assess the relative impact of emerging technology to Subsurface s strategic business needs and interpret their meaning to senior leadership (both within Global IT&T and the wider BG business). The Subsurface Solutions will then take promising new technologies that have intrinsic value to the business and pilot them to prove their worth to the. Although the Global Advanced Technologies function has annual deliverables, the overall success of this particular role will be measured over a 3 to 4 year timescale and will be supporting major company initiatives such as Fit for the Future. PERSON SPECIFICATION Experience Needed Candidates should have the following attributes: Extensive knowledge of best practice Originate and Exploration processes, practices and systems, application portfolios, data management techniques, business process analysis and change management techniques in the Oil and Gas sector or a relevant business environment Good working knowledge of Subsurface processes, practices and systems in the Oil and Gas sector Good working knowledge of the energy and corporate business environment, preferably in the Oil and Gas Sector Proven ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the business from Board downwards Be a radical and innovative thinker, who holds fresh perspectives that are not obvious to others and that may be new for the company, or even the industry Challenges traditional thinking and promotes and demonstrates new ideas, often developing models for describing complex situations in novel ways Seeks to build and sustain relationships with external bodies, be they other end-users or professional bodies Has experience of operating in a functional role with an asset of E&P Has proven skills in Originate and Exploration best practices and business process analysis & design having run major projects in the oil and gas industry Has managed business-it relationships in an industrial/engineering environment at a senior level, including ability to be comfortable and credible at Senior Management levels Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes Education: Candidates will preferably be qualified to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate subject Candidates should have the following specific skills and experience for this role: Able to build value-adding strategic relationships with key suppliers Able to articulate DOFF potential across the gas chain Has proven leadership and management skills having had extensive management experience in a business environment.
