www.kic-innoenergy.com The European Sustainable Energy Accelerator KIC InnoEnergy Highway

KIC InnoEnergy Highway accelerates your business idea on its route to success 4 unique assets that give us a head start over any other European accelerator: European coverage: KIC InnoEnergy Highway is one single European accelerator with six entry points. The ventures we support have access to our whole European network. We specialise in Sustainable Energy: This allows us to offer energy-related technology due diligence, labs, proof of concept (POC), prototypes and technical expertise. A commitment to finding your first customer: As it is the customer who is held to legitimise an invention, a product or a service, KIC InnoEnergy Highway is actively involved with you, the entrepreneur, in finding your launching customer. An integral approach: KIC InnoEnergy Highway helps start-ups in those 4 dimensions that we believe to be vital to creating and running a successful business: Technology: Due diligence, mapping vs. competitive products/services, IP protection, technology enhancement or development, piloting and industrialisation. Market: Opportunity assessment, market positioning, business cases, finding and validating customers, business planning and commercialisation. Personnel: Team assessment, training, team completion and legal constitution. Finance: Access to money sources, and to our extensive KIC InnoEnergy and Business Angel networks. How does it work? Submit your idea Opportunity Assessment Coach Assignment Services delivery First customer Send your business idea (e.g. business plan, presentation) to one of our offices. Your business idea is assessed based on three criteria: innovation novelty and technology, market potential and team competencies. If the assessment is positive, you and your assigned coach will collaborate on designing a completely individualised roadmap, complete with a customised package of services. A complete package of services can be provided thanks to our diverse and extensive network of European partners, who cater to every aspect of your project s needs. KIC InnoEnergy is committed to finding you your first customer. This is a real milestone for a start-up, and a first step towards consolidating a successful business.

KIC InnoEnergy Highway is A one-stop shop offering a tailor-made service to help you create your Business, and make it work. We can offer this service thanks to our extensive network of European partners that includes 200 players in the energy field, sourced from industry as well as universities and research centres. Our partners represent the whole energy value chain. They provide us with their expertise and their services, and are among the first to adopt the innovative solutions that our ventures launch on the market. Equity participation KIC InnoEnergy is more than just another accelerator. Rather than asking for a fee, we invest, through equity participation, in those start-ups that we believe can really make a difference. Our beliefs We do not believe in the best ideas but in the right questions. Success does not come from having the best idea or technology, but from asking the right questions. Questions that matter respond to a need and to an opportunity. We do not believe in the superman or superwoman but in the super team. Success comes from a working in a team, each member of which can contribute to a wholly successful enterprise. We do not believe in easy money but in good money. Simply giving cash to an entrepreneur is not considered money well spent. Instead, we help the entrepreneur source cash directly from customers. We do so by helping them find their first customer, as well as through our market-oriented approach that contributes to the creation of a well-rounded business. Our ventures talk about us Coaching provided by KIC InnoEnergy has proven to be of great value. We have dealt with several situations much better thanks to the help of our coach and to the perspectives we were given on how to assess problems. Being in contact with other start-ups is also an opportunity. We believe that business collaboration with one of the start-ups in the incubator could be profitable. We would be interested in using KIC InnoEnergy s network of partners to reach the whole European market in the future. Elisabeth Cuenca, CEO, OpenDomo KIC InnoEnergy has allowed me to work with experts from all over Europe. Our technology has been tested by specialists from IST, (Portugal), while Iberdrola, (UK and Spain), has begun testing our prototype. What s more, our first customer has been found thanks to the efforts of our French partners. The opportunity to take advantage of such a network is something unique. Patrick Möller, CorPower
