Configuring a TeleVox Email account on an ios device. 1. Navigate to the Icon on your Home screen. 2. Select the Mail, Contacts, Calendars option. 3. Select Add Account. 1
4. Select Other. 5. Select Add Mail Account. 2
6. Complete the New Account page: a. Name: Enter the desired identity of the person or entity sending the message, such as [Dr. Jane Doe] or [Sample Orthodontics]. b. Email: The email account you are configuring c. Password: The password associated with the email account you are configuring. d. Description: How your mail account will be referenced on your device. (Suggested: Email address of the account being configured.) e. Tap Next. 7. Choose either IMAP or POP. (Both accept the same settings on the New Account screen.) 8. Complete the second New Account page: a. Name: Should be filled from the prior page. b. Email: Should be filled from the prior page. c. Description: Should be filled from the prior page. d. Host Name: This will be mail.[yourdomain.com] where [yourdomain.com] = your website address. e. User Name: Is always the full email address of the account you are configuring. f. Password: Is always the password of the account you are configuring. g. Outgoing Mail Server: The Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server settings are identical. While the Account screen may state the Outgoing Mail Server settings are optional, our servers require these credentials be properly set in order to authenticate and send mail. 9. When all fields are populated and spelling is verified, tap Save. 3
10. Once Save is tapped after completing the New Account page, your device may spend the next one or two minutes verifying your connection. This verification process may be interrupted once or twice with a message stating Cannot Connect Using SSL Do you want to try setting up the account without SLL? Tap Yes to this prompt when it appears. 11. If POP was selected, your device should return to the Mail, Contacts, Calendar screen. 12. If IMAP was selected, after the auto- configuration completes, you will be taken to a final screen with the option to opt in and out of services. a. Leaving Mail services ON is needed to have your email function. b. Notes is an optional service which syncs a folder under your mail account with the Notes application on your ios device. You must also set this to point to your email account within the Notes application itself to finalize the connection. Opting in to Notes at this stage only means that option will be available later in your Notes application. 13. Tap Save to proceed. a. Your device should return to the Mail, Contacts, Calendar screen. 4
While everything should now be in place to begin enjoying your email, auto- configurations may not always establish settings correctly. An easy way to test this is to attempt to send yourself an email; if the email sends, and you receive it without error, you know the primary functions are correctly configured. If you received any errors or your email is not working after setup, please review the following Additional Troubleshooting steps to verify the correct settings were applied. Additional Troubleshooting 1. Navigate to the Icon on your Home screen. 2. Select the Mail, Contacts, Calendars option. 3. From Mail, Contacts, Calendar: Tap the newly created email account. 5
4. Scroll to the bottom of your account screen and select SMTP under Outgoing Mail Server. 5. Select the server representing mail.[yourdomain.com]. 6
6. This screen controls your outgoing mail settings and should reflect the following: a. Server: ON b. Host Name: mail.[yourdomain.com] c. User Name: Full email address. d. Password: Password associated with the email address. e. Use SSL: OFF f. Authentication: Password g. Server Port: 587 7. If you alter anything on this screen, you must select Done at the top to save the settings. 8. Return to the account screen. Select Advanced. 7
9. If the POP configuration was selected, the Advanced screen should reflect the following: a. Remove: (Optional) Suggested: After one week b. Use SSL: OFF c. Authentication: Password d. Delete from server: (Optional) Suggested: Never e. Server Port: 110 f. S/MIME: OFF 10. Tap the return arrow in the upper left corner. 11. If the IMAP configuration was selected, the Advanced screen should reflect the following: a. Drafts Mailbox: Drafts b. Sent Mailbox: Sent c. Deleted Mailbox: Trash d. Remove: (Optional) Suggested: After one week e. Use SSL: OFF f. Authentication: Password g. IMAP Path Prefix: / h. Server Port: 143 i. S/MIME: OFF 12. Tap the return arrow in the upper left corner. 8
13. Any changes to the Advanced settings or on the parent Account screen require you tap Done on the Account screen in order for them to properly save. Still Having Problems? Confirm your ios device has a reliable Internet connection. Can you access websites or other email accounts on the device you are attempting to configure? Check webmail to confirm your account exists and your password is correct. Visit: http://webmail.[yourdomain.com] Attempt to log in with your full email address and password. If successful, confirm these are the credentials used on your ios device. If unsuccessful, attempt to recover your password via the Forgot your password? link. If all attempts to access your account via webmail fail, you may consult the administrative user for your domain s email accounts to reset your password, or visit www.televox.com/support for ways to contact us for additional support. Take steps to rule out potential issues with your ios device or Internet connection. Restart your ios device. If possible, try an alternative Internet connection.
