User Guide Printing, Copying and Scanning
A few important things to know ( for successful printing, copying and scanning) 1. You will need sufficient credit on your printing account to release your printing. 2. You will need your Library card to load credit, release prints, make copies and scan. 3. There is one print queue for both black and white and colour. This queue is called General on MyPrint or \\MyPrint\General If you encounter problems with this queue, there is a back-up queue, which is PostScript on MyPrint or \\MyPrint\PostScript 4. The default option is double-sided and black and white. If you require single-sided or colour, you will need to alter this in the Printer Properties before you send your file to print. 5. All Library machines can scan documents to your Documents space (look for your My Scans folder), your University e-mail account and USB stick. Scanning is free of charge. 6. You can also print from your laptops. The Computer Services Helpdesk team can assist you in installing the correct drivers.
How to add credit to your account There are two credit loading machines in the Library. They are located on the wall opposite the Copy and Print area. Alternatively, you may add money online via this link: http://print.bath.ac.uk Please note: There is a minimum limit of 2.00 when you top up your library card online.
Before you start, press either silver button to log out any previous user. Then, place your Library card on the card sensor. Your account balance will display. Add coins or notes to the limit required. Finally, press either of the silver buttons next to the display screen to log out.
How to send a file to print Please make sure you have sufficient credit on your printing account to release your printing. With your file open, select & Check the printer selected is either:- General on MyPrint or \\MyPrint\General (or alternatively, if you encounter problems, PostScript on MyPrint) Click the Print button - your file will be sent to the queue. Please note: default settings for printing are black and white and double-sided.
If you require colour or single-sided prints, click on the Printer Properties link On the Page Setup tab, click on the relevant icons as shown below: colour single-sided Click OK and then click Print to send your file to the print queue. Now see instructions on how to log in and print out your file.
How to log in The log in function uses a card reading sensor. Look for this image on the left side of the machine and follow the instructions. Place Library card here to log in Mr Student Sample Remove card after 2 beeps

Select the file you wish to print by touching the document name on the screen. It will show as highlighted. Select the appropriate option: will retain the file for re-printing. will delete the file once it has printed. When you have finished, please Please note: files you send to the queue but do not print out will be deleted after 72 hours.
How to Copy and Scan items When you position your document on the glass, you need to ensure that your item is placed within the dimensions of: A4 (Portrait), A4R (Landscape), A3

How to photocopy colour machine Please make sure you have sufficient credit on your account before you begin to copy. Select the Copy button once you have logged in. You can change the settings to: Select colour or black and white Select the Copy Ratio (to reduce or enlarge) Select Paper size (A4, A3 or A4R) Select 2-sided (double-sided) copying
2-sided copying: 1-Sided to 2-Sided = Your originals are single-sided but you want double-sided copies 2-Sided to 2-Sided = Your originals are double-sided and you want double-sided copies 2-Sided to 1-Sided = Your originals are double-sided but you want single-sided copies Use the document feeder if you require double-sided copies. To copy you have to press the round green button on the right side below the number pad.
How to scan You have two scanning options. 1. Scan and Send a. Send to your My Scan Documents b. Send to your University e-mail account* 2. Scan and Store (USB Memory stick) Note: Scanning is free and can be done both in black and white and in colour. *It is not possible to send a scan to any other e-mail address

2. How to scan and store to USB Insert your USB stick where you see this symbol on the front panel of the machine. (You will need to lift the right-hand flap). Place the document you wish to scan print-side down on the glass and close the lid. Select the Scan and Store button once you have logged in. This screen will display.
