John S. Markwalter, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atlantic Trust Jack Markwalter is chairman and chief executive officer of Atlantic Trust as well as chairman and chief executive officer of Invesco National Trust Company. He is a senior managing director of Invesco and serves as a member of Invesco s Executive Management Committee. He joined Atlantic Trust in 2002 as head of business development and has more than 26 years of experience in the private client and investment industry. From 2008 to 2010, Markwalter also served as head of Invesco s U.S. Institutional Sales, Client Service and Consultant Relations. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust, Markwalter served as managing director and national director of the client strategy group for Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. He earned a Bachelor of Science with highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Markwalter serves in various leadership roles for many community organizations. Among other positions, he is a member of the board of trustees for the Georgia Tech Foundation, the board of directors for Jacob s Ladder, the board of directors for St. Joseph s Hospital Mercy Foundation and the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. John Hillen, PhD President and Chief Executive Officer Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc. John Hillen is the president and chief executive officer of Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc., formerly Global Defense Technology & Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: GTEC). Sotera provides mission-critical counterterrorism, cyber intelligence, cyber warfare and modernization systems to national security agencies and programs of the U.S. government. Hillen took the company public in 2009, and both the company and he have won numerous industry awards since that time. Prior to his current job at Sotera, Hillen was president of what is now CGI Federal Inc., a subsidiary of CGI Inc. (NYSE: GIB). He previously led the defense and intelligence business at American Management Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMSY). In 2000, Hillen was vice president, and later chief operating officer, of Island ECN Inc., a capital-markets firm in New York. From 2005 to 2007, Hillen served as the assistant secretary of state for political-military affairs in the Bush administration. In that capacity, he was the senior State department official responsible for coordinating America s diplomatic strategy with its military operations. During his time in the U.S. Army, Hillen was a reconnaissance and special operations officer in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He has been decorated for his actions in combat and is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Council on Foreign Relations and a number of other professional organizations. He currently serves on the Chief of Naval Operations Executive Panel, the federal advisory committee supporting the head of the U.S. Navy. John Hillen was awarded the Henry Crown Fellowship for community spirited leadership by the Aspen Institute. A long-time member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and he was the subject of a recent cover story in Smart CEO magazine, entitled Renaissance Man. Hillen graduated from Duke University, holds a Master s Degree from King s College London, a doctorate from Oxford and received his MBA from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell.
