1. Introduction The Malteser International project database contains an overview of MI projects planned, projects under implementation and completed projects. The information displayed is taken out of the internal Malteser International project approval process and documents. Information can be accessed through http://malteser-projects.dyndns.org:81 with any web browser connected to the internet. 2. Log-in It is required to be logged in in order to view, add or edit any information. Before the user can login a password has to be created, only for the first time, the password is created automatically by the system. There are two ways to create the password. This method is also useful if you already have a password and want to reset it. 1. From the main page, click on First time 2. Either way, you will be taken to this page, from there you can enter your username and click Generate password. Note: the username is the first part of your email address (without the @malteser-international.org or @malteser.org) The password will be sent to your email address. Once you have a password you can login into the system. a) Open your web browser (it works with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and others) and enter the address http://malteser-projects.dyndns.org:81 b) Enter your username and password and click Login. If the username/password combination is correct you will be taken automatically to the front page from where you can list all the projects, create a new project or search a project. There are 2 types of users: normal users and administrators, normal users can only see information, but they are not allowed to add, modify or delete projects. Hence, the pages that they can access after login are slightly different from the pages the administrators see. 3. Change password Once you have received your automatically created password by email you can change if for another one of your choice. From the login page click on Change password. 4. Search projects If you are looking for a specific project, and know the exact project number you can display it immediately. Just enter the project number and click Go. 5. The list of projects will look similar to this. 6. Create a new project It is possible to create a new project, click Create new project. Create new project is available from several pages in the web site, from the main page after successful login, from the list of projects page, from the show project page and from the edit project page. 7. Edit a project To edit a project, first you have to display it; there are 2 ways to display a project, from the List projects page, or from the search page. Once the project is displayed, you can click Edit this project. Version: 1.0 Editor: Jose Organero / Ravi Tripptrap Page 8
After the necessary changes have been done, click Save changes. 8. Delete a project To delete a project, first you have to display it; there are 2 ways to display a project, from the List projects page, or from the search page. A confirmation message will ask you if you are sure. If you accept, the project will be deleted and after a few seconds you will be redirected to the List of projects page. Note: This process is irreversible, changes are saved to the database in real time, and nothing can be done to recover lost records. 9. Edit a donor project To edit a donor project, first you have to display the project. Once the project is displayed, click Edit this project, after the changes have been made in the donor part, click Save changes (like a normal project edition). 10. Delete a donor project To delete donor a project, first it is necessary to display it, there are 2 ways to display a project, from the List projects page, or from the search page. 11. Attached files It is possible to attach (upload) PDF files to a project, or to remove them if there are already attached files. You can also view or download the attached files. Either way, you will be able to attach, view, download or remove files. 12. Further comments Date's format: Dates are shown in dd.mm.yyyy format (e.g. 25.06.2012), and they can be entered the same way or in dd-mm-yyyy format. Number's format. Figures are shown in German format (1.234,56) where the thousand separator is the. and the decimal separator is the, (comma). When figures are entered, this format should be used, although the thousand separator can be omitted. If the. (point) is used instead of the, (comma) they recorded figure will be saved incorrectly.
