Solutions Solutions Smart pen(adp-201) 1. The smart pen s battery usage time For the smart pen, you can continuously write up to approximately 2 hours. This is the time for continuously writing without taking the pen off the paper. You can write over 4 hours on average. The battery may drain faster when the pen cap is open. 2. Charging time The charging lamp s red light starts to flicker when there s less than 30% battery power left. It takes approximately 2.5 hours for a full charge. 3. The smart pen s power lamp does not turn on or it doesn t give a short vibration (once) when I open. When the pen cap is open for a long period of time, it changes to Automatic Sleep Mode or this problem may be due to the pen s operation error. Press the reset button on the back of the smart pen. 4. The smart pen s connection lamp (middle lamp) flickers green, turns red, and then vibrates for about seconds. If you click on the dot paper with the smart pen, the connection lamp will flicker green and then turn into solid green. The lamp will turn red and vibrate for about 2 seconds if the pen tries to connect and fails. If this persists after 2~3 tries, please check the pairing status. For instructions on pairing the smart pen (ADP-201), please refer to the pairing page. 5. When I try to take notes, the power lamp turns off. This happens when you take notes on regular paper that the smart pen cannot read. Please check whether you are using papers printed with dot pattern. 6. The smart pen cannot be searched when pairing the computer. Press the reset button on the bottom of the smart pen(adp-201) with the ball point, etc., close and open the pen cap, and search the device again. 46

If problems continue, click on the right button of your mouse, exit PenSYNC and DOTnote and try again. <Display PenSYNC Action Status> : When PenSYNC is operating normally. : When real-time data transmission is available but save data transmission is unavailable. : When Bluetooth device connected to the PC is unavailable. 47

Solutions Digital pen(usb Type) 1. Can I send the notes taken on DOTnote paper at a later time? For USB type digital pens, since the pen doesn t have a memory, users cannot save the notes and send the notes at a later time. Users can only transmit the notes in streaming mode when the DOTnote Desktop Manager is on. Note/Book for DOTnote 1. After using all the notes, can I use the same type of notes (notes with the same pattern number)? If you use the same type of note (with the same pattern number), the program will recognize the new pages the same as the pages already saved on DOTnote. Since overlapping may cause a problem, we recommend that you purchase notes with the next pattern numbers. If you happen to use the same type of notes for replacing the old notes (notes with the same pattern number), save the notes as image files on your computer. Refer to the Save Notes as Image page. After deleting the saved images in DOTnote, you can use the same type of notes (notes with the same pattern number). Refer to Delete Page(s) page. 2. How do I manage notes take on the same book for 2 pens (or more) registered as My Pen? If you take notes on the same note or book with different pens, the notes will be classified/ separated according to the Pen s name. You can check the notes taken on your book under the respective pen s name under My Book List. DOTnote Desktop Manager 1. When I try to make annotation notes with the notes and record notes, the recording file gets excluded. Select the page including the recording file and make the annotation note. The notes will be converted to annotation note and the recording file will be deleted. If the recording is required in annotation note, you can re-record in annotation note. 2. Can the recording stop even if I didn t manually stop the recording? Recording will stop if View by Page is disabled, if the document has changed (note or book), or if the user exits annotation mode. 3. How many annotation pages can you make? You can make up to 20 pages of annotation notes. Select the note you'd like to correct and click on [Annotate]. You can only select multiple pages for the same note or book. You cannot [Annotate] for pages from two or more different notes or books. 48

Solutions 4. How do you create annotation notes? Using [Annotate], you can convert note received from other people to annotation note and you can take notes with your digital pen. After selecting the annotation note you d like to create in storage, select the relevant page in View Multiple Pages. You can choose up to 20 pages.(in Enlarge mode, only one page will automatically be selected.) When you click on the [Annotate] menu, the Preview annotation Note window and the annotation note name entry window will pop up. After changing the name of the annotation note and selecting OK, a annotation note will be created under the annotation note category in storage. 5. What is the pattern license for annotation? It is a required pattern license for creating annotation notes on notes received from other users with your digital pen. When you install DOTnote, 1,080 pages of pattern licenses for annotation will basically be provided. You can use the [Annotate] function to create annotation notes for received notes. The original copy of the received note will be maintained and in the annotation note, a unique pattern license for annotation note will be applied for each page. If you print the created annotation file and take notes with the digital pen, the designated color selected in Annotation Note Taking Color (refer to [Options]-[View Page]) will appear in DOTnote. 6. There are not enough patterns to create annotation notes. If you run out of patterns for creating annotation notes, select Initialize License in [Pattern Manager] and you can re-use the 1,080 pages of licenses. If you initialize the license, the existing annotation notes will be automatically converted to back up notes but restoration is not possible. You cannot add notes or edit the converted backup notes but you can send, e-mail, or copy onto a clip board. 7. How many pages can you use for patterns required for creating annotation notes? When you install DOTnote, 1,080 pages of patterns will be provided for creating annotation notes. For each new annotation note, you can use up to 20 patterns. You can check the number of used patterns and available patterns among the 1,080 pages in [Tools]-[Pattern Manager]. 8. If you create annotation notes with the same note or book, will the same pattern be included? The 1,080 pages of patterns are basically provided in order, so different patterns will be included when you create annotation notes with the same note or book. You can view the details/info on the pattern included with note annotation under the page category in [View Details Window]-[Details/Info]. You can also view the details in page information at the top of the print material screen. (if you have selected Print including Patterns) 9. I would like to take additional notes on the backup note. You can restore the backup note or book into the original form. Select the note or book you d like to recover in Backup Note under storage, click on the right button of your mouse and select [Note Recovery] and the notes will move to its previous location. If the backup note reverts to a file name that already exists in the same folder, recovery is not possible. In this case, please change the file name or delete the file in the same folder to use the recovery function. 49
