Commencing June 2014, the course is a combination of seven (7) one (1) day workshops and course work undertaken by participants usually as part of their own workplace projects. A comprehensive set of manuals is included to provide additional reading including a valuable range of tools, templates and instruments which, in soft copy, are ready for use in participants workplaces. Assignments, provided electronically, are completed between sessions and contribute to the overall assessment of the course. Participants will need 4 6 hours for work to be done between each of the workshops. Final submission of work for assessment is usually 8 weeks after completion of the workshops. Content This qualification reflects the role of individuals who identify and apply project management skills and knowledge in a wide variety of contexts. They may be members of a project team but with no direct responsibility for the overall project outcomes. They support project operations in one or more roles and under direction may also use project tools and methodologies selectively to support organisational or business activities. They take responsibility for their own outputs in terms of organisational and project quality requirements, and may have limited responsibility for the output of others. It includes: Obtaining Project Authorisation Develop a Scope Management Plan Manage the application of project scope controls 2. Manage Project Time The timeline of a project schedule is not static. This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage time in projects. It involves: Determining and implementing the project schedule Assessing time management outcomes 3. Manage Project Quality Quality is the degree to which a set of inherent characteristics fulfil requirements. Manage Project Quality describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage quality in projects. It involves: Determining quality requirements Implementing quality control and assurance processes Using review and evaluation to make quality improvements in current and future projects. 4. Manage Project Cost Well researched cost planning is paramount to the success of your project. This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to identify, analyse and refine project costs to produce a budget, and to use this budget as the principal mechanism to control project cost. 5. Manage Project Human Resources knowledge required to link people, ideas and information at all stages in the project life cycle. Project communication management ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage and disposal of project information through formal structures and processes. 6. Manage Project Information and Communication Communication is simply the passage of information from one person or group of persons to another person or group or persons. Manage Project Procurement Project procurement management is the process of purchasing or acquiring any products, services, or results needed from outside the project team. This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to undertake procurement in projects. Manage Project Stakeholder Engagement knowledge required to manage stakeholder relationships during a project.
