INTERNATIONAL STUDENT APPLICATIONS TO THE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2015-2016 1. Application period starts on July 6, 2016. Deadline is August 7, 2015. 2. Candidates are required to submit the below listed documents to the International Office during the application period. Application documents can be submitted through e-mail, by post or delivery by hand. For the deliveries by e-mail: All the documents can be scanned and sent within the same e-mail to admissions@ticaret.edu.tr Please make sure all the documents are complete and readable. Application form must also be filled completely, printed and signed. 3. Application documents for the undergraduate programs a. Application Form (must be filled in computer, printed and signed. A photo of the candidate must also be attached on the related section) (downloadable from http://ww4.ticaret.edu.tr/internationaloffice/documents-requiredfor-application-to-associate-and-bachelor-degree-programs/ ), b. 2 colored passport size photos. (should have been taken in the last six months), c. Turkish or English translation of the high school diploma of candidates who have graduated from high school or equivalent schools. d. Turkish or English translation of the document indicating candidates who have not received their diploma yet will graduate from their high schools at a pre-determined date. 1
e. Turkish or English translation of the transcript showing lessons completed and grades obtained during high school. f. Copy of credentials page on passport. g. If available, documents related to the English and Turkish Language Proficiencies of the candidates: In case of application to a Turkish program TÖMER certificate (minimum B2) (registered students on the basis of conditional acceptance are allowed one year to submit this document before starting the courses. After one year if students cannot submit a valid Turkish Language Certificate /Score Reports, they will also get one more additional year to take a valid score report. When additional year ends, if they still cannot submit the Certificate/Score Report, their registration is cancelled. In case of application to an English program (30% / 100%) a minimum of score of the following tests: YDS: 60 (valid three years) FCE: C (non-expiry) PTE Academic: 55 (valid two years) TOEFL-IBT: 72 (two years) or students may attend the English Proficiency Exam which takes place in September. (Students who fail this exam have to study at our preparation school for one year). For the programs offered in 30% English: Candidates who studies English Language in the English Preparatory School and fails in the Proficiency Exams held in June and September, conditionally passes to their faculties for the program they register. These students have to succeed in the Proficiency Exam before graduation. For the programs offered in 100% English: Candidates who studies English Language in the English Preparatory School and fails in the Proficiency Exams held in June and September needs to register in the English Preparatory School for one more year. They cannot pass to the faculties unless they succeed in the Proficiency Exam. 2
4. List of the Undergraduate Programs offered in Istanbul Commerce University Candidates are allowed to make max. three choices of programs ( two from the same faculty, one from a different faculty). The applications to three different programs at the same time are considered invalid. Each program must be chosen from the list below. Any program that does not exist in the list given below cannot be chosen. Program names must be entered into the form exactly as written in the list. Candidates who demand scholarship need to attend an interview -for each faculty they submit application for- held in our university on. Applications of those who demand scholarship and do not attend the interviews are turned down. Candidates who do not demand scholarship do not need to attend an interview. The application of these candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the application documents. 2. For the applications through e-mail, all the scanned documents must be complete, readable, and attached to only one e-mail. 3. Candidates who submit their documents through e-mail or by post receive a confirmation e- mail from the International Office. If the application documents are incomplete, invalid or unrecognizable, candidate is asked to submit all the documents again within the application period. 4
4. Applications need to be submitted within the application period. Any application document received after the deadline (August 7, 2015) is not taken into consideration.
