Approximately 23 meetings took place every Thursday at 9:00 a.m. over the past year. In January 2012, the City begins biweekly then weekly meetings with the development team. Representatives from the City include planning, building, engineering, surveying, traffic, police, fire, utilities.

Palm Beach Outlets Feb. 2012 Plans for the Palm Beach Outlets are formally submitted to the City. Jan. 17, 2013 Demolition of the old Palm Beach mall begins. Phase 1 Construction February 14, 2014 Ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the Palm Beach Outlets. January 2012 The City begins biweekly meetings with the development team to plan the project and plans are submitted the following month. May 9, 2012 PPRC review June 19, 2012 Planning Board Approval Sept. 4, 2012 Palm Beach Outlets receives City Commission approval. May 7, 2013 The first permit for vertical construction is issued and new mall is underway. October/November 2014 The Marketplace stores including Whole Foods, Nordstrom Rack and Designer Shoe Warehouse are anticipated to open.

Design Guidelines- Service Areas Design Guideline Commitments for all Service Areas Screen wall consistent with the architectural style, color and material of the main building. Foundation planting a minimum of two feet wide must be provided on all exterior sides of screen walls. Foundation planting extending five feet beyond opening must be provided on building façade. Example of Design Guideline Language for Architectural Standards Blank wall areas shall not exceed 15 feet in vertical direction nor 50 feet in the horizontal direction of any facade. Wall treatments to break up the elements of mass and scale shall be used. These wall treatments shall include at least three (3) of the following: Windows; Roofline details, parapet height transitions, vertical pilasters, or other similar treatments to break down scale; Raised cornice or building banding with a minimum of two (2) relief elements; Ornamental and structural architectural details, other than cornices which are integrated into the building structure and overall design; Emphasized building base, minimum of three (3) feet high and minimum projection from the wall of two (2) inches; Building setbacks or projections to vary the plane on buildings; Change in color; Architectural weather/sun cover features over public entrances of either fabric or hard treatments taking the form of a projected awning or hard canopy with a width of at least that of the entrance and projecting a minimum of 3-6 from the building or entrance.

Enhanced Security Site specific Security staff on site 24 hours/day, 7 days a week. Extensive CCTV system with digital recording monitored 24 hours/day by Security Base Officer. On-site Public Safety Center built for West Palm Beach Police Department, West Palm Beach Fire Department and Palm Beach Outlets Security. Retail and parking areas patrolled 24 hours/day, 7 days a week by various means, including vehicles, golf carts, Segways, T3 cycles and foot patrols. Customer Intercom locations throughout the retail and parking areas into the 24 hour Security Base. West Palm Beach Police Department Officers work alongside Palm Beach Outlets Security in both retail and parking areas.
