Work in an international luxury industry. This VET FEE HELP course is the highest qualification you can gain in the Beauty Industry. The Diploma course has been designed for those students wanting to enter the industry, or upgrade from Certificate III Beauty Services or upgrade from Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy to a Diploma of Beauty Therapy. You will learn how to assess and meet the needs of a diverse range of clients and perform a range of treatments such as facial skin rejuvenation, acupressure, and electrotherapy for face and body and Swedish body massage. You will also study the underpinning knowledge of anatomy, physiology, skin science, nutrition, electricity and cosmetic chemistry. Also the alternative therapies such as aromatherapy, reflexology, hot stone massage and scalp massage. This course is ideal for those who want to own or manage a beauty salon or spa and will enable the operator to work at a higher level in the beauty/spa industry. For the beginners you will also learn waxing, eyelash treatments, manicure and pedicures and reception skills. You will learn how to assess and meet the needs of a diverse range of clients and perform a range of treatments such as manicures, pedicures, eyelash tinting, and waxing, facial skin rejuvenation, electrotherapy for face and body, and Swedish body massage. You will also study the underpinning knowledge of anatomy, physiology, skin science, nutrition, electricity and cosmetic chemistry. You will be released one day per week for 2 years to attend TAFE 8:30am -5:00pm TAFE NSW enrolment fee applies This course is for people who want to work as a beautician in a retail or beauty salon environment. You will learn how to provide a number of beauty services, including eye treatments, waxing, makeup, manicures and pedicures and also a choice of electives in photographic make-up or acrylic nails. 20hrs. per week for 18 weeks 12 hours per week for 36 weeks Day or night classes are available and there are online options to reduce your face to face hours. This course gives you skills to perform waxing, manicures and pedicures, eyelash tinting, mini facials, make-up, reception and retail skills to work in a beauty salon. You can choose electives in Photographic Make-up or Acrylic and Gel Nails. If you want more employment options you need to do the Diploma of Beauty. How many hours is the full time Certificate III Beauty Services? 20-24 hours per week 4 hours optional in the flex room to complete assignments, watch DVDs or process any recognition of prior learning. This qualification is for individuals to provide makeup and hair services for TV, theatre, and film. It is the highest level that can be achieved in the Make-up industry in Australia. Students develop the knowledge, practical skills and outlook to work as a professional Make-up Artist for media and the entertainment industries. Refer to the Costing sheet which outlines all kit costs and enrolment fees, or attend an information session, or call Reception on 9942 3580 or Head Teacher on 99423144. I have a lot of experience in some areas of the course. Can I get some recognition? Yes you can. You will need to make an appointment with the Head Teacher once you have enrolled. You will need to provide current evidence of your experience (within the past 3 years). You will also need references from past employers and relevant certificates or references. I trained overseas in beauty therapy and am now working in a salon. Do I have to do it all again? You need to make an appointment with the Head Teacher, Suzanne Hattch. Call 99423144. Which units are in each of the courses? See the sheet entitled Units in each course on page 9. Does Centre link pay? You need to contact you Centre link and they will evaluate your case. Customer Service officers in our administration area will be able to tell you the price. This price will not include books & kits. You are required to bring all Centre link evidence and paperwork with you. Are Student Loans available? For the Diploma of Beauty Therapy there and the Diploma of Specialised Make up Services VET FEE HELP loans are available.
