PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS of YOUNG PROFESSIONALS MBA Program duration is 16 months, Friday afternoons and Saturdays, without affecting your work week. You will have a FOCUS on a single course for four weeks. In a sense you have 17 chunks of single courses. You will have a project, at which you will apply what you have learned. You will attend Executive Insights Conferences at Saturdays. Our guests in the past were all selected leaders like Akın Öngör, Bekir Ağırdır, Neriman Ülsever, Rouedia Matin, Haldun Dormen, Temel Aksoy, Steven Young and many others. You can choose a mentor from our Mentor Pool which includes 17 prominent names from the business world. Our Mentor Pool is growing continuously. You will learn by teaching. If you wish, we can ask your help for mentoring our undergraduate students. You will network with our MBA s, MIF s, Executive MBA s and your colleagues in YP-MBA. YP-MBA of SABANCI UNIVERSITY MBA programs are designed to teach you to manage customers (marketing), money (finance), people (organizational behavior),direction (strategy) and change (innovation and leadership). There are many different formats for an MBA. You can do it full time,just after graduation, on weekends, or once every month; you can do it while away from the office, or for a few months, or muchlater in your career. All of these options have merits and demerits. The YP-MBA is a weekend program, Friday nights and Saturday full day. Your work week will not be affected. The Program lasts for 16 months. The main logic of the program is; 1. Teaching basics with must courses; 2. Teaching the specifics with electives ; 3. Each course starts on a Friday evening and continues on Saturday all day, for four weekends; 4. After concentrating on a single course and finishing it in four weeks, you will start a new course. This is a totally new and innovative concept in weekend learning; 5. In 16 months you will take 17 courses like this; 6. After finishing courses, you will be expected to complete a project, at which you will apply what you have learned at the courses. 1
CORE BENEFIT of YP-MBA is FOCUS Concentration is the key to success. If you want to be successful, don t go after a little bit of everything, but have a clear focus. The first FOCUS of the program is on a single course for four weeks. On Friday evening, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon you will attend only this course. Team work, assignments, everything will focus on the course. At the fifth week you will have the final exam, and after that you will start another course. While we are interviewing you at the acceptance phase of the program, we will give our individual recommendations to you for the best points of concentration for you, depending on your previous education, experience and future targets. Your next FOCUS will be your project work. You will concentrate on a specific project at your own company. It will be better for you to choose your project subject in parallel with your concentration points. We will expect you to choose an advisor from your company for the project. He/she will be supervising your project with you, in addition to Academic Advisor at the University. 2 2

If you are an engineer seeking a top job in sales, what you need is marketing courses. In this case it is better for you to concentrate on the marketing electives. Similarly, if you have new responsibilities, which necessitate financial knowledge, finance electives may be better for you. 5
APPLYING to the YP-MBA PROGRAM Applicants to the YP-MBA Program should have a bachelor s degree and full-time work experience of 2-5 years of work experience. Candidates who are committed to their personal development and who are willing to invest their sixteen months to learning in the program are preferred. The application process starts with filling out the online application form that can be accessed through our website. All candidates are required to come to the campus for a personal interview. Detailed application requirements can be found on our website. We recommend that all applicants visit our campus to observe classes and meet current students, if at all possible. FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP The tuition fee is payable in installments at the beginning of each term. For those students whose tuition is at least partially paid by the institution they are working for, payments should be made at the beginning of each semester in four equal installments. On the other hand, students who are personally paying for their education can make their payments for each term in three equal installments during that term. 6

LIFE at SABANCI UNIVERSITY SOCIAL and CULTURAL ACTIVITIES and STUDENT CLUBS Sabancı University supports extracurricular activities that enhance students social and cultural skills as well as their creative abilities. There are large numbers of student clubs including the MBA Club, Economics and Management Club and Young Entrepreneurs Club. SPORTS FACILITIES The campus has a multi-purpose sports hall which includes a basketball/volleyball court, squash courts, a cardio-fitness hall, two aerobics halls, a table-tennis hall and a climbing wall. There is another sports hall on campus with a tennis court and a basketball court that is also suitable for playing volleyball, handball, badminton, and table tennis. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) SERVICES Access to the Internet and local network can be obtained through cabled and wireless systems widely available throughout the campus. Instructional support and a permanent e-mail address are also supplied to all students. THE INFORMATION CENTER (IC) The Information Center has a large collection of books, e-books, multimedia resources, more than twenty thousand print and electronic journals and 57 CD-ROM and online databases. These databases include management and business specific ones such as Ebsco-Host and ISI Emerging Markets database. 8
HEALTH FACILITIES and PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE Students enrolled in degree programs have access to the health services offered by the University. A doctor and a nurse are on staff, with an ambulance service, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, students enrolled at the University receive a comprehensive health insurance paid for by the University. TRANSPORTATION Regular shuttle services are provided between Istanbul and the campus. The departure and arrival points in the city are Taksim, Kadıköy, Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Üsküdar, Anadolu Hisarı/Kavacık, Mutlukent, Bakırköy, İzmit and Viaport Shopping Center. Information regarding the transportation schedule is available at the University s website. Public transportation is also available between Campus and nearest metro station.
