Classes are held one evening per week, two evenings per week, or in a weekend format that meets generally every other weekend. Those with significant managerial experience will want to explore our Executive MBA program. Our students come from many educational backgrounds including the social and natural sciences, humanities, engineering and healthcare as well as business, accounting and economics. And the school has one of the oldest programs in the area producing graduates under this current MBA format for more than 12 years. Classes in Bellarmine s MBA program are small, with an average of 25 students. In addition, you ll be placed in a cohort of students with whom you ll take all of your core courses. This model allows our students to have close personal contact with quality faculty and to develop relationships with and learn from their fellow students. Our courses use case studies drawn from actual businesses that illustrate the situations business leaders face every day. Just as in the real world, these problems require simultaneous application of financial, marketing, operations and human-resource skills. Often, there is no one right answer. The Program Structure To facilitate team formation and the development of group problem solving skills, students in the Bellarmine MBA program take all of their courses with the same group of classmates. This cohort of students is registered for the same core courses throughout the MBA program. Once a student has selected a program, they are expected to maintain their selected cohort throughout their enrollment in the program. However, students may transfer to a different cohort with the approval of the MBA Committee. Accreditation The W. Fielding Rubel School of Business at Bellarmine University is accredited by AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Bellarmine is also the first and only private university in Kentucky to achieve AACSB accreditation which places it among the elite business schools in the nation, a distinction held by fewer than 15 percent of business schools worldwide. Study Abroad Bellarmine MBA students have the opportunity to travel outside the United States for a hands-on experience that crosses national and cultural boundaries. During this trip, classroom work is combined with on-site learning for what many of our students say is one of the strongest professional development experiences of the program. 5 My business is international and the Bellarmine MBA gave me the critical tools needed to thrive in today s world economy. The Study Abroad portion of the program was a great introduction to the real issues of globalization. It helped me hone my management skills, broaden my imagination and focus my motivation. Small Class Sizes Great teaching is central to Bellarmine s mission. You won t be a nameless face in a huge lecture hall; we keep our classes small. Realizing that students already have the raw materials for much of what they need to know, faculty members serve as facilitators, encouraging participants to draw upon their own experiences to solve problems. Cohort Based To facilitate team formation and the development of group problem solving skills, Bellarmine MBA students take their courses with the same group of classmates. This cohort of students is registered for the same core courses throughout their MBA experience with the exception of the one-night format. in their own words Christopher Carmicle 00 Team-Based Learning At the beginning of the program each participant undergoes an assessment of his or her own leadership skills. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is the first step in managing them effectively. A Personal Touch Based on the leadership assessment, participants are grouped into teams of approximately five members each. By working in teams for the duration of the program, you learn to recognize and deal with key variants in personalities and leadership styles. Other task-oriented teams are used throughout the program to help participants learn to lead effectively in changing managerial environments. Close & Convenient Campus Bellarmine is located in the scenic and historic Highlands neighborhood, close to downtown businesses, shopping and entertainment venues. Our campus offers plenty of safe and convenient parking so you won t have to park blocks away from your classes. Bellarmine s campus also has a variety of places to meet for group work outside of the classroom.

Most of our MBA students live in the Louisville area and hold fulltime jobs. Review our offerings and meet with our MBA Director to determine which one is best for you. TheExecutiveMBA Executive MBA students have an average of 10 or more years of relevant experience when they enter the program. This program focuses on those with significant management experience who are looking to graduate in a short period of time. Typical students include executives on the fast track to upper management from larger area firms; presidents and/or owners of small firms; senior-level non-profit managers; and medical doctors. Accelerated curriculum Classes on Friday evenings and Saturdays generally on alternating weekends Graduate in 16 months TheWeeknightMBA Students may choose a program that meets one or two evenings per week. The average weeknight student is employed by a wide variety of local firms, although some are just beginning their professional careers. Two Night Classes meet two evenings per week 6:30-9 p.m. The class rotation schedule is determined by the semester you begin the program. Classes begin in the fall and spring semesters. You may begin taking electives during the summer if you are interested in getting a head start on the program.
