Kate C. Beardsley is an FDA lawyer in Washington, D.C. who represents generic drug companies in matters related to Hatch-Waxman, regulatory approvals, and compliance. Scott Gottlieb, M.D. is a practicing physician and Resident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. From 2005-2007, Dr. Gottlieb served as FDA Deputy Commissioner for Medical and Scientific Affairs and before that, from 2003-2004, as a senior advisor to the FDA Commissioner and as the FDA s Director of Medical Policy Development.
