With the help of our generous donors, Arrive is able to continue our mission of restoring hope and opportunity in the most impoverished and vulnerable children's lives. Every dollar goes a long way in Kenya and truly makes a difference in the life of an orphan or former street child. This handbook is your guide to the life changing experience of sponsoring a child with Arrive. We know it will be an inspiring experience for both you and your sponsored child! Asante Asana ('Thank You Very Much' in Swahili) The Arrive Team

Sponsorship Information Your support helps children access programs that address their specific needs and gives them the opportunity to learn and develop skills to overcome generational poverty. Thanks to the support and encouragement you provide to your sponsored child, he/she will be ready to progress without us and inspire others just as you have them! 1

FAQ's Will I Sponsor An Actual Child? Yes. You have the opportunity to choose and sponsor a specific child (by gender and/or age) and to communicate with him/her if you choose. This allows you to connect with your sponsored child and to establish a friendship that will carry a special meaning for you both. How Much Is It To Sponsor A Child? It depends on what program you choose. If you are sponsoring a child at our Keumbu Rehema Children's Home (pre-k-grade 8), it costs $2** day or $730 per year. If you decide to sponsor a child for secondary boarding school, the total of 4 years of secondary boarding school including tuition and fees, is $6,322. For further details please refer to page 7. How Will My Sponsorship Donation Be Used? Our experience has taught us that the most effective way to help children is by combining your sponsorship with those of other sponsors and donors - rather than just giving it directly to your sponsored child. This ensures that our other children, who may never have the opportunity to have a sponsor of their own, will still benefit from your support and our programs. This applies to our pre-k-grade 8 program only. For a breakdown of where your sponsorship donation goes for secondary school sponsorship please refer to page 7. **Throughout the handbook, all prices are in U.S. dollars** 2

Are My Contributions Tax Deductible? Yes. Please contact your tax advisor with any questions. How Long Will My Sponsorship Last? Sponsorship is a voluntary, ongoing contribution. You decide how long you are able to help. We just ask that for the primary school children you commit to one year of sponsorship, and for secondary boarding school children, sponsorship is a 4-year commitment. Can I Visit My Sponsored Child? Of course, in fact we encourage sponsors to make a personal connection with their sponsored child. In keeping with our commitment to child safety, all visits must be coordinated in advance through Arrive. A background check and release forms will be required. We hope you understand that these steps are necessary to ensure the safety of the children. Can I Cancel My Sponsorship? Yes, however we do have a one-year requirement for the primary school children and a four-year commitment for the children that attend secondary boarding school. We ask that you please contact us as soon as possible to let us know of any changes you foresee. 3

How Can I Pay For My Sponsorship? You can pay by check or any major credit card. Sponsors have the choice of paying for the year up front, or you can choose to have recurring payments taken out on a monthly basis (for primary school students only). For secondary school fees, please refer to page 7. For any specific questions please contact Arrive directly at info@arrivekenya.org. Can I Choose The Child I Will Sponsor? Yes, with our assistance! When enrolling, you may choose a child to sponsor by gender and age. If you do not have a preference, a child will be selected for you. 4

Primary School Sponsorship Sponsors can choose to sponsor a specific child living at our home, The Keumbu Rehema Children s Home, and attending Emmanuel Lights Academy (pre-k grade 8). The sponsorship fee goes toward helping your child along with the other children at our home. Full sponsorship costs $2 per day ($730/Year). What Does My Sponsorship Include? -School and Exam Fees -School Supplies -Food -Shelter -Transportation -Basic Medication What Doesn't My Sponsorship Include? Although basic medications are included, it does not include hospital bills if your child becomes seriously ill. It also does not include initial, one-time purchases such as a new mattress, blankets and pillows, shoes, a school uniform, etc. 5

Secondary School Sponsorship Donors can also choose to sponsor a child from our home to attend secondary boarding school in Kenya. Secondary boarding school starts in grade 9. Competition to get into national boarding schools is fierce, and Arrive is proudly supporting a number of girls currently enrolled in national boarding schools. An additional girl and two boys, graduating 8th grade in December 2015, will also start secondary school in February 2016 for a period of four years., 6

Secondary Boarding School Costs The prices below are for a certain school as of 2015. While the prices may change a little bit depending on year, school, and exchange rate, it should give you an idea of the price. That being said, these prices are not guaranteed and are subject to change. Please Note: Sponsorship is A Four Year Commitment! 1st Year Term 1 $1005 $438 for shopping (one time fee) $450 for tuition $19 pocket money $37 for transportation $61 for shopping Required by early December, 2015 1st Year Term 3 $417 Required by August, 2016 1st Year Term 2 $487 Tuition Miscellaneous fees Required by April, 2016 Subsequent Years $1,471 Years 2, 3 & 4 Total of 4 Years= $6,322 7

Communicating With Your Sponsored Child Communication between sponsors and children is encouraged in order to build an invaluable relationship between both you and your child. You can expect to receive twice a year: -at least 2 photos, -your child's report card; - two scanned letters (which will be emailed to you). We encourage sponsors to write additional letters, as often as you choose. Sponsored children love hearing from you, and they will respond to your letters. Arrive suggests scanning and emailing to info@arrivekenya.org rather than postal mail. Can I Send Gifts To My Sponsored Child? Because of the high cost of shipping and the possibility of items being lost or stolen, we offer sponsors the option of purchasing gifts for their children through our Arrive staff. We suggest a monetary donation which we will use to purchase the gifts locally in order to support the local economy. Once your gift is received, the ARRIVE staff will use your gift to purchase a gift that your child needs and desires. This might include a new outfit or pair of shoes, books, or a toy. You will receive a picture of your child receiving the gift by email. 8

Sponsorship Testimonial Linda, New York "I sponsor James, a street child who was taken in when my daughter went to visit for Arrive over the summer. Sponsoring James has changed my life and although I have never met him, I have such a deep love for him. I am able to talk over the phone with him, write him letters, and I hope to visit him someday". James, Grade 2 "Thank you for bringing me home. I am grateful because you made me healthy again". 9

Transparency Arrive makes every effort to ensure transparency and keep our operating costs costs low. Your sponsorship contributions are earmarked donations which may only be used to support the children living at the Keumbu Rehema Children's Home, and to cover the operating costs and supported programs. Arrive must keep well-documented accounts and we post all our financial statements on our website: http://www.arrivekenya.org/about-arrive/financials in order to be a financially transparent organization. 10
