High Performance Evening: Georgia Advanced Ranking: 100 (12 s-14 s) ~mandatory 3 day program~ HP Drill Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays 5:00-7:00 p.m. Georgia Advanced is the entry level High Performance program at Windward Tennis Academy. This 3-day program is designed to get to the juniors to Macon - the Ga State Qualifier. Young players come into the group with the basic tools for the game, but are now in need of how to use those tools to frame their early gamestyle. Basic advanced principles, such as using the "5 Court Keys" (hit thru the court, open up the court, use of spins to exploit the entire court, moving up in the court/net, and all while holding their own court) are reenforced. Offense, Building, Neutralizing and Defense - Shot ID is also taught using drills to improve recognition. The group will have 4 Tiers, or levels: 1) A 10's tier that will continue to play high State level Orange ball tourneys. 2) An 11's tier that will focus Green ball and game development 3) A 12's tier that will use Reg ball, combining the skills used from Green ball 4) A 14's tier that will also use Reg ball, but will focus on High Tempo and patterns Although the juniors will often be hitting together across the tiers, the overall game-plan is to have approximately 8 players per level, that will work on achieving their respective development. Coaches and kids will rotate between the levels, meaning that an 11's tier junior will hit with 12's and the 10's, depending on the skill-set being trained. Likewise, boys only, and girls only will be grouped together often to work on game development and pattern play they will see in tournament play. In general, the Fall will have more development of stroke sequences, whereas the Spring will have more accuracy and consistency themed drills, as more tournaments are usually held in the Spring. The Summer will combine drilling for all parts of the game and more live-ball point and set play to stay sharp for the Summer tournament schedule leading up to and after Macon. Juniors moving into Ga Advanced will need: 1) Basic game development without any major technical flaws or grip issues 2) To be willing to work very hard, display good character in drills & at tournaments, and ready to learn & experiment with new shots and strategies 3) To have a Ga ranking near or inside the top 32 (10's), top 150 (12's & 14's) 4) To commit to 3 days/ wk training, even during months w less than ideal weather 5) To maintain, if not increase, tournament participation within WW's trny schedule Juniors looking to move on to the next level will need: 1) Solid game development on all parts of the game 2) To be willing to continue to work hard, display good character and mentally and physically ready for the next challenge 3) To have a Ga ranking inside the top 50; a Southern ranking inside the top 200 4) Be going into High School the upcoming Fall and still within the ranking range 5) To still be committed to a 3+ day/wk schedule 6) To maintain, if not increase, the current level of tourney participation 7

Balancing Tennis & Academics For Evening High Performance we strive to match if not exceed the junior s commitment towards tennis. We feel strongly in the consecutive days of tennis in our current schedule as well as the tournament schedule that we set out. If your child is having difficulties keeping up with the rigors of this schedule, maintaining his/her grades, and/or academic pursuits please work on their time management as it will only get tougher to manage as they get older. For many, college tennis will bring the same challenges, if not more, and the top 75 schools in college tennis are top academic schools, so we often say the next level does not get any easier. Now (especially for our high school players) is the time to get things done better and in less time. If you still feel that the rigors are too much see Academy Directors Charles Byrd, or Henry Darko regarding a group change. High Performance Daytime The goal of the Daytime group is to prepare juniors for the next level; Division 1 College, ITF's, or entry level professional events. It is our primary goal to get each "class" as strong as possible by help maintaining, and improving the strength of each recruiting class. The Daytime program demands a higher level of commitment in terms of time, resources, as well as National level tourney participation. High School tennis, other sports, and holidays need to be placed second to the tournament schedule as the set goals (development and ranking) cannot be reached without commitment on both ends. Also, the fees include tournament coaching, which are based off of the year and then divided equally throughout the year. In an effort to keep the monthly fees even, we ask that parents agree to a yearly commitment for the program. Several breaks (long weekends, holidays, etc.) are given throughout the year and are based off of national holidays as well as the tournament schedule. We will provide the upcoming Module's calendar (tournament, and drill schedule) in advance for everyone's planning purposes. Going forward - No credit requests will be granted for vacation, high school tennis practices, home matches (away matches only), or additional tournaments not on the list we provide. While we completely understand your right and responsibility to make decisions regarding your child and navigate through the tournament schedule, we respectfully ask that you agree to the full year's schedule that we have committed to attend for your child. Without this known understanding, planning would be impossible for either of us. We appreciate your understanding on this matter. 11
High Performance Daytime Acceptance Criteria Due to a strong sectional & national tourney schedule, ranking criteria into the Daytime Performance groups will be consistent with tournaments we are traveling to. It is the goal for the majority, if not all of the group to be attending these national events. They are the next level - period. Especially for our 16's & 18's, these levels of tourneys are crucial to Tennis Recruiting for college. Players from the Daytime Performance Group have gone on to play at several of the top D-1 schools, including SEC powerhouses: the University of Georgia, the University of Alabama & and the University of Florida. Other former players have received All-American Honors as well as All- Conference and played in the NCAA tourney. Still others have played at top D-2 and D-3 schools and played deep into NCAA' at some of the top academic institutions across the country. It is our goal to keep this good track record going and improve the strength of each class as each one progresses to their 'Next Level'. Acceptance Criteria 100 in south in 12s 100 in south in 14s Select Performance Group (12s & 14s) Schedule Monday - Friday 1:00-5:00 p.m. - Tennis Training & Conditioning Students in SPG are strong State and Southern players.
