It is a modern higher education institution with over 67-year tradition in didactics, research and science. At present, the SUT educates over 29.000 students at all three levels of study (bachelor, master, doctoral), mainly in the fields of engineering and technology. The University offers over 150 specialities within 47 major courses given at 14 faculties, covering the whole range of engineering aspects, including modern technologies and architecture as well as management, sociology, administration and linguistics. Didactic, scientific and research activities are run in modern laboratories and lecture halls by highly qualified university staff consisting of over 1800 academic teachers, including 400 professors and holders of the DSc degree. The main SUT campus is located in the centre of Gliwice town, one of the oldest and most beautiful towns in the Upper Silesia region, perfectly located with easy reach from highways, trains and airports. Gliwice is the location of the Rector s Office as well as of SUT s 9 faculties and College of Foreign Languages. Main student facilities, including the Library, student housing, cafeterias and sport centres are located here as well. Further SUT s faculties have seats in the towns of Zabrze and Katowice. Having in mind the continuously growing interest in technical studies, the university has even extended its offer in recent years to more locations in the region, including Rybnik, Bytom, Dąbrowa Górnicza and Tychy. The with its strong position on the educational market at the regional, national and international scale confirmed by various rankings, continues to play the role of one of the leading Polish technical universities. Education of future engineers is focused on educating alumni with the skills required by the perspective employers in industry or another sectors of labour market. The cooperates internationally, actively participating in various academic exchange programs what allows its students to experience academic life worldwide by choosing a semester or year of study at one of over 190 partner universities. Simultaneously, foreign students received by the SUT help to create a real internationalisation at home environment. The SUT offers also a wide range of activities for leisure time: students may participate in activities of over 20 different student organisations, 100 research groups, 20 sport sections and those performed by University choir, music band, dance group and theatre all these things create an atmosphere which will not allow anybody to feel bored here. So, join us at the SUT we hope to see you in Gliwice! BSc Automation and Robotics, Electronics and Telecommunications, Informatics (interdisciplinary) Bachelor of Science 3.5 years / 7 semesters During the first semesters of BSc studies, students obtain thorough education in mathematics, physics, basics of computer sciences and basic technical sciences: electrical engineering, control theory, electronics, metrology, computer programming, microprocessor systems, databases, computer networks, artificial intelligence and computer vision systems. Attention is paid on solving practical engineering problems, integration of knowledge with team-work and leading skills. Alumnus acquires skills in using up to date tools of engineering workshop, in particular CAD and automated design computer measurements systems, as well as skills in accessing information in scientific databases. Graduate's profile: Graduates of the course have possessed knowledge in mathematics, physics, theory of computer science and engineering sciences, electrical engineering, control theory, microprocessing systems, databases, computer systems and artificial intelligence. Thanks to the knowledge of professional, the graduates are prepared to work both in Poland and worldwide, finding employment as designers and users of automation systems and robotic technology and machine intelligence. Skills learnt allow the alumni to work as programists (informaticians), specializing in databases design and computer distributed systems. They are also prepared to creative work in the field of construction engineering and electronic components, hardware and utility for electronic equipment used in the telecommunications equipment, measurement, regulatory and in medical technology. A graduate of the interdisciplinary course receives the diploma in chosen specialisation, i.e. one of from computer science, automation & robotics or electronics & telecommunications. Such a diploma is an equivalent to a diploma obtained by graduates of classical (not interdisciplinary) studies in similar fields. Specialisations at both undergraduate (bachelor) and master levels: - automatic control - electronics and telecommunication - informatics Detailed information on the course can be found on www.polsl.pl winter semester The will accept applications from international students who graduate with the Secondary School Final Examination Certificate (Original or notarially certified copy). The certificate should include the final grades in all subjects taken at secondary school for Bachelor s studies, and the final grades in all courses taken at higher education institution (college) (Transcript of Records and B.Sc. Diploma) for Master s studies. All documents submitted to the Silesian University of Technology must be in or translated into Polish (by a sworn translator). The documents must contain a clause confirming that their holders have access to higher education institutions in their own countries. According to the Regulation of the Ministry of Education and Science on the Nostrification of School Certificates and Maturity Certificates Obtained Abroad, any foreign school certificate must be legalized in the country in which it was issued. You can contact the diplomatic post in your country (Polish embassy or consulate) which will be able to help you and provide with relevant information. The required documents should be sent to our university. They will be presented to the Polish educational inspectorate in order to be nostrified. For more information students should contact the Polish Embassy in their country or contact our Admission Office. The students must meet SUT minimum academic entry requirements to gain admission to our courses. Admission criteria mathematics and additional disciplines to be chosen from extended mathematics, physics and astronomy, chemistry, biology, computer science. More information of the requirements can be found HERE PSL 2

MSc Chemical Technology and Engineering 1.5 year / 3 semesters Graduates possess knowledge of both chemical & process engineering, and technology, enhanced with environmentally friendly processes, technologies and nanomaterials. Good knowledge of technical is something not to be forgotten. They are familiar with chemistry and technology, construction, operation and design of chemical equipment, process control analysis and production management. With a knowledge of chemical technology and process engineering, they are prepared to conduct research, design and development work as well as implementation of processes and products practice. Graduates can work in macro-field chemical and allied plants producing advanced materials, engineering companies, design offices, etc., especially in -spoken business and technical environments. More information on particular subjects and scheme of the course available at www.studyinenglish.polsl.pl www spring semester The will accept applications from international students who graduate with the submitted to the must be in or translated into Polish (by a sworn translator). BSc Energy Engineering Bachelor of Science 3.5 years / 7 semesters Graduates will possess broad knowledge of energy generation and the newest energy technologies, knowing the possibilities and modern state of art in the practical use of solar, wind, hydro- and geothermal energy. They will be able to work on solutions of problems dealing with the increasing need for energy in cities, neighbourhoods and single houses. They will also have knowledge of diagnosis and operation of machines and equipment as well as the principles of energy management in large industrial plants, small business and communities. Graduates will be prepared to work in companies operating in the field of energy systems and facilities related to the production, processing, transmission and distribution of energy like power stations, power plants and many other facilities in the fields of energy-related problems. They may also be specialists in the energy issues in the local government units. The EU needs specialists in the Clean Coal Technologies area as: coal is an abundant energy resource; is available at a fairly stable price and comes from many international suppliers, thus guaranteeing energy security. The climatic goals, however, require that the production is sustainable, especially where environmental aspects are concerned. New emerging technologies in this field will require new specialists educated in this way that they not only understand but may also apply and further develop methods which may use coal to produce energy in environmentally friendly way. Such specialists should have knowledge in energy technologies focusing, respectively, on low-emission combustion, rational use of energy and chemical aspects. The programs are then broadened to obtained a specialist in CCT, supplemented by overall knowledge in energy problems including also renewable field. winter semester The will accept applications from international students who graduate with the submitted to the must be in or translated into Polish (by a sworn translator).
