At the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), employees are key partners in fulfilling the organization's mission, which is to enhance and protect the quality of life in the Denver region. DRCOG's comprehensive benefits package helps employees and their families with their quality of life. Who Receives Benefits? Full-time employees (normally scheduled to work at least 40 hours per week) participate in all benefits programs. Part-time employees (must work at least 24 hours per week and the job must be for an indefinite duration) participate in medical, dental and vision insurance; health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program, but at different rates than full-time employees. Key DRCOG Benefits Leave Benefits Employees receive 10.5 hours of general leave each month. Leave hours increase over time to a maximum of 2.5 days accumulated monthly. Employees also accrue extended illness leave at a rate of six hours per month (nine days annually). DRCOG employees also receive 10.5 paid holidays each year. Paid Holidays New Year's Day Martin Luther King Day Presidents' Day Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve (afternoon) Christmas Day Floating Day (designated by the Executive Director)

Health Insurance DRCOG employees choose from one of two Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield plans (Choice of HMO or PPO). DRCOG pays 85 percent of the premium for employees and their families. Dental Insurance Employees may enroll in DRCOG's MetLife plan, choosing from two PPO plans. DRCOG pays 80 percent of the premium. Vision Insurance Vision insurance also is offered to employees. The insurance, provided by EyeMed, covers routine exams, glasses/contact lenses, etc. DRCOG pays 100 percent of the premium for employees.

Employee Assistance Program The Employee Assistance Program is available to all employees and their eligible dependents. DRCOG pays 100 percent of the premium for this confidential counseling program. Life and Accidental Death Insurance DRCOG provides basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance equal to two times annual salary. Long-Term Disability Long-term disability insurance is provided after the first month of employment. This insurance is paid entirely by DRCOG. Voluntary Short-term Disability DRCOG offers a voluntary, short-term disability benefit in case an employee is unable to perform their job due to an illness or injury unrelated to work. Supplemental Voluntary Life Insurance Supplemental voluntary life insurance for employees and their families is available through payroll deduction. Flexible Spending Accounts DRCOG offers two types of flexible spending accounts: medical and dependent care. Through each account, employees can redirect a set amount of their earnings to pay for applicable expenses with pre-tax dollars. Tuition Reimbursement DRCOG employees enrolled in courses related to their work may receive tuition loans for continuing education. The loans are then forgiven progressively with continued employment and proof of passing grades. Great benefits!

Retirement Benefits DRCOG's retirement plan is for employees of six months or more. Through the plan, DRCOG contributes 9 percent of an employee's monthly salary, while the employee contributes 3 percent. Guaranteed Ride Home Program All DRCOG employees are enrolled in the Guaranteed Ride Home Program. Through the program, the employee can receive a free taxi ride from work to home for an emergency or unplanned work schedule change if he/she used transit or any form of alternative transportation that day. Annual Eco Pass DRCOG offers each of its full-time employees an Eco Pass that provides unlimited use of RTD's bus and light rail service..

More About DRCOG DRCOG has an extensive training and professional development program for its employees. Employees are strongly encouraged to take the training classes they need to update their skills and reenergize themselves. DRCOG has an active employee committee that plans gatherings and get-togethers for employees, including an annual picnic for employees and their families.
