HKU SPACE Community College Instructions for Using Online Course/Class Matching Programme Semester 1, 2015/16 The Online Course/Class Matching Programme will be in service from 11 September 2015 (noon) to 17 September 2015 (5:00p.m.). To use the programme, please login the MyFuture website at http://cc.hkuspace.hku.hk/myfuture/. Step 1 : Planning Before you log into the programme, please make a plan for the course(s)/class(es) that you wish to exchange with other schoolmates. Please refer to your programme curriculum available in the Student Handbook 2015/16 and the Information Page accessible via the MyFuture website with your timetable and the master timetable which contains the class details: When you are planning your matching requests, please ensure that: (1) you still have sufficient add/drop/swap quota for course/class exchange request; (2) you meet the course/curriculum requirements of your preferred courses/classes; and (3) there is no timetable clash Note You must first obtain mutual consent before you and your schoolmate make a course/class exchange application. Otherwise, there is no guarantee that a match of courses/classes found in the programme shall lead to a successful exchange of courses/classes. Please enter your 8-digit Student ID and password and then click the LOGIN button. Click here to get more information for first time users. Login Password: For first time user, the default password is a string comprising the first character of you HKID/passport, and your date of birth in YYMMDD. With Hong Kong Identity Card Your default password will be capital first letter of your Hong Kong Identity Card number and birthdate in YYMMDD. For example, if your HKID number is A1234567 and date of birth is 1 Feb 1980, your password will be A800201. With Passport (Only for students without a Hong Kong Identity Card) Your default password will be first alphanumeric of passport and date of birth in YYMMDD. Step 4 : Read the Rules and Regulations Please read the important rules and regulations carefully for the course/class matching programme. If you agree, then click the I Accept button to continue. Copyright Reserved 2015. HKU SPACE Community College P. 5 of 9
Step 5 : Enter Your Contact Information Please input your contact information first and then click the Save button. This is the main page. You have to provide your contact information for other schoolmates to approach you if their preferred courses/classes match with yours. Please input your email (e.g. student@learner.hkuspace.hku.hk) and then click the button Save. You can change your contact information by repeating the above steps. Note 1. You will not be able to use this matching programme if you do not input your contact information such as email address. However, you are NOT encouraged to provide your mobile number. 2. The College has no liability to verify, monitor and control the accuracy and completeness of the personal data students provided (e.g. email address). Step 6: Input Your Matching Request 2 You can input up to 5 entries for each course. 1 Please enter the course code and class number of your preferred course/class. In My Exchange List, you will see the courses/classes that you have enrolled in this semester. If you wish to exchange a course/class with another schoolmate, please enter the course code and class number of your preferred course(s)/class(es) (CCEN4005-CL02 in the above example) and click the button Add to submit your request. You can input up to 5 entries for each course under the Course/Class You Wish to Exchange with column. If you wish to delete your matching request, you can click the Delete button next to the class number. Note 1. Your matching requests will only be kept for 48 hours and will be automatically removed thereafter. 2. You are highly recommended to delete your matching request once you have found a schoolmate who has agreed to exchange a course/class with you. Step 7: View Your Matching Information You can click the function Go to My Matching List to see your matching information. You may contact the schoolmates concerned in the Contact Information column if you wish to exchange your courses/classes with them. You must first obtain mutual consent before you and your schoolmate make a course/class exchange application. Note 1. A student should not be forced, enticed, or bribed to exchange a course/class with another schoolmate. The College has no liability for any agreement/conflict arising from the course/class exchange among students. 2. The information obtained from the programme should be used for the sole purpose of helping students to exchange courses/classes. Inappropriate use of information, like sending junk mails and promotional material to other schoolmates via email, is strictly prohibited.
