Technology Transfer at the Regional Level Research and innovation strategies became a priority in ERDF Regional Operational Programs 2007-2013, recognizing the role of regions in improving EU competitiveness and developing the knowledge economy For 2014-2020 this priority is still reinforced, centred on smart specialisation strategies and connected with Horizon 2020 within the Common Strategic Framework The regional dimension is the most adequate to develop innovative clusters, involving SMEs in research networks, building knowledge communities 2
