Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60606-182 https://portal.jrcertaccreditation.org/summary/programannualreportlist.aspx Program Description The Radiologic Technology associate degree program bring the student into an area of high technology in the field of medicine. The student will experience all the applications of diagnostic imaging, including routine radiography and fluoroscopy, trauma radiography, surgical and mobile radiography, as well as subspecialties such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound (US), nuclear medicine (NM), and radiation therapy. As a program graduate, the student is eligible to sit for the national certification examination in Radiologic Technology, administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The partnerships the college has with area hospitals and clinics will provide the student the benefits of on-the-job training in a clinical setting. We do not guarantee job placement, however, we often assist graduates with employments opportunities as we get information from the community about available positions. Hospital imaging departments, clinics, physicians offices, and diagnostic centers seek graduates with this degree. This is a competitive admission s program which requires the student to participate in clinical rotations from 7:0am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, in any given semester, however, some afternoon and weekend shifts are required in certain semesters. Attending the program is equivalent to working a full-time job. At this time, there is no extended travel required to attend clinical rotations. All clinical sites are within 1 2 miles of the college. Students may make application to compete for a seat in the program each Fall semester to begin the program in Spring of the following year. All pre-requisites, including Humanities and Speech, must be completed by the end of Fall semester prior to the Spring semester start. A full-time student can complete the program in 4 semesters. To graduate, students must earn a minimum of 77 semester credit hours. This is a competitive admissions program. Estimated Salary Starting salary varies depending on locale, background and employment (Part time, Full time, shift, etc.); approximately $17-25 per hour in the Columbus, Georgia area. Mission Statement It is the mission of the Columbus Technical College School of Radiologic Technology to provide an education of excellence and high quality to qualified students in an environment that focuses on continuous quality improvement. In the academic and clinical setting, a curriculum is presented that provides students opportunities to develop a mastery of subject matter, technical competency, ethical considerations, and problem-solving abilities. The education provided will foster cooperation, commitment, and individual student responsibility. The student scholar will be able to apply the knowledge attained toward successfully competing in the ever-changing health care environment. Program Goals Goal 1: Students/graduates will exhibit effective oral communication skills. Goal 2: Students/graduates will be clinically competent for entry-level performance. Goal : Students/graduates will exhibit effective communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Goal 4: Students/graduates will exhibit development of professional growth in attitudes, behavior, and ethics. Program Effectiveness Data Goal 1: Students will pass the ARRT Certification exam on the first attempt. Goal 2: Student will complete the program within 24 months. Goal : Employers will be satisfied with graduates' performance in the workplace. Goal 4: Students pursuing employment will be employed within 12 months post-graduation. Program Completion Rate 2014: 92.8% 5 Year Rate: 92.9% Program Completion Rate for 201: 1 00% 5 Year Rate: 90.6% ARRT Certification First Time Pass Rate (2009-2014) - 92.4% Job Placement Rate (2009-2014) within 12 months - 8%

Program Admission Requirements (Competitive Admission) Must have presented official documentation of an earned high school diploma or official GED scores to the Admissions Office. I. Be at least 18 years old 2. No provisional and/or special admission students considered for the program.. Must have attained minimum Reading (79) and Writing (62) COMPASS scores and these scores cannot be more than five (5) years old in the semester you compete. 4. Complete pre-requisite courses for your intended program as listed on CTC website by the end of Fall semester. 5. Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 at the end of Summer semester of the year making application. 6. Submit packet containing the following no later than October 1 st to the Administrative Assistant, rd Floor, Robert L. Wright Health Sciences Building: Letter of Intent Form Personal Data Form Technical Standards for Radiologic Technology Form These forms can be found at http://www.columbustech.edu/academics/school-of-health-sciences/forms/ Packets should be turned in to the Administrative Assistant in the Health Sciences Building no later than October 1 st and can be turned in as soon as September 15 of the year the student plans to make application for Spring semester admission. Instructions will be given at that time concerning the final turn in to the Hartline Building at the Information Desk for final submission of application. All packets must be complete upon subnission. Entrance is contingent on completion of a Background Check through www.clinicalbackgrounds.com which must be completed after being conditionally accepted to the program. 7. Provide current physical exam (medical form), immunization record, and current CPR card after program acceptance. Competitive Admission Information 1. Approximately 70-100 students apply each year. 2. The program accepts 15 students per class, per year.. Currently, the school considers the applicant's GPA for completed prerequisite courses and Compass Reading and Writing scores for competitive admission 4. Entrance is contingent on completion of a background check through www.clinicalbackgrounds.com which must be completed after being conditionally accepted into the program
