Anti-Spam Configuration in Outlook 2003 INDEX Webmail settings Page 2 Client settings Page 6 Creation date 12.12.06 Version 1.2

Webmail settings In this section, you will learn how to activate and configure the anti-spam function in Webmail. Go to https://webmail.green.ch, enter your user name and password, and click on Log On. Creation date 12.12.06 / Version 1.2 Page 2 of 10

Now click on Options to access the settings you want to make. Creation date 12.12.06 / Version 1.2 Page 3 of 10

In the right window, you will see a menu item Privacy and Junk E-Mail Prevention. To activate spam protection, check the box beside Filter Junk E-Mail. Now, emails that are recognised as spam will be moved directly to the Junk Email folder. Another useful option is blocking of external content in HTML messages. This prevents external contents from being downloaded on the basis of the message's source code, and is directed particularly at executable files. Check the box next to Block external content in HTML e-mail messages to activate this option. The click on Save and Close. By clicking on the Manage Junk E-Mail Lists button, you can define trusted senders and recipients, and the senders you want to block. As an example, we will now enter a sender we want to block. Go to Blocked Senders at the top of the selection and click on the Add button. Creation date 12.12.06 / Version 1.2 Page 4 of 10

Now enter the email address of the sender you want to block (e. g. hansmuster@spammails.ch). Then click on OK. The sender you want to block has now been added to the list. All emails that are received from this sender will now be blocked and moved straight to the Junk E-Mail folder. Important: You can define trusted senders or recipients in exactly the same way. Creation date 12.12.06 / Version 1.2 Page 5 of 10

Client settings In this section, you will learn how to activate and configure the anti-spam function in the Outlook 2003 Client. Open Outlook 2003 and click on Tools Options to access E-Mail Options. Important: emails are scanned for spam at the server level, and are then identified as spam with by the word [SPAM] in the Ref. line. In order to have messages that are identified as spam routed directly to the Junk E-Mail Folder, you must first activate the Junk E-Mail option in Webmail. Please refer to page 2 of this document for full instructions on how to do this. Creation date 12.12.06 / Version 1.2 Page 6 of 10

Now click on Junk E-Mail to configure the anti-spam function. Creation date 12.12.06 / Version 1.2 Page 7 of 10

Here you can define the various spam detection levels of your Outlook 2003 Client. Select a level that meets your requirements. Messages that are recognised as spam by the filter are moved straight into the Junk E-Mail Folder. Important for Hosted Exchange customers: In the case of RPC via HTTPS connections of Hosted Exchange customers, it is not necessary to change the spam detection level on the Outlook 2003 Client, because spam is already identified as such at the server level. Creation date 12.12.06 / Version 1.2 Page 8 of 10

Now click on Blocked Senders to block an unwanted sender, for example. Then click on Add to add an address to the list. Now enter the unwanted sender address and click on OK. Creation date 12.12.06 / Version 1.2 Page 9 of 10

The sender you want to block has now been added to the list. All emails that are received from this sender will now be blocked and moved straight to the Junk E-Mail folder. Important: You can define trusted senders or recipients in exactly the same way. Important: When your Mailbox is fetched via POP3, only the Inbox folder is fetched. It should be noted that when Junk E-Mail filtering is active in Webmail, the Junk E-Mail Folder may eventually become full and, it may not be possible for any more emails to be delivered because the maximum storage space allocation has been reached. It is therefore advisable to deactivate the Junk E-mail function in Webmail when the Mailbox is fetched via POP3, or to empty the Junk E-Mail Folder manually from time to time. Important: When the Mailbox is fetched via IMAP4, the Junk E-Mail Folder can quite simply be synchronized. Creation date 12.12.06 / Version 1.2 Page 10 of 10
