The resources listed will assist students to make connections to services that may be needed during and after the high school years. It s never too early to start the transition planning process. By age 14, and every year thereafter, every student and his/her transition team should be discussing activities that promote movement from high school to post high school activities.

Pre-Employment & Employment Options Range of Employment Services Sheltered-A segregated setting and supervised work environment in which people with developmental disabilities receive pay for completed piece work. High level of personal and employment support provided. Enclave-A supervised community based work setting in which a person with a disability completes production work for the onsite employer through a contract. On the job supervision is medium to high. Supported-An individualized work placement for a person with a disability that offers job coaching as needed. Competitive-A job in the community that provides a competitive wage for industry standard work quality and quantity. Assistance in finding employment is possible but assistance in learning entry level job skills is minimal or not needed.
