6 Comprehensive Services Traditional Adult Services Inpatient Services Mental Health Services (MHS) provides a 16-bed adult psychiatric unit that offers acute short-term care. Our goal is to ensure multi-disciplinary care within a therapeutic setting designed to treat and enhance skills in managing patient recovery. Emergency Services (ES) ES is a 24-hour service designed to provide immediate treatment and crisis intervention to residents of Clark and Madison Counties. Support, service coordination and advocacy are provided to those facing a psychiatric emergency or life crisis. Adult Outpatient Services Outpatient counseling services are provided for individuals, couples, families or groups. Counseling is provided in Springfield and London. MHS assists persons needing help with mental illness or situational problems, including depression, anxiety, anger, stress, family difficulties, and grief. Transitions This partial hospital program (5 days per week for 2-3 hours per day) helps individuals who need more assistance than outpatient support provides, yet less intense assistance than is found with 24-hour inpatient care. Youth Programs Child, Adolescent and Family Center Outpatient counseling provides assistance for youths with emotional, behavioral and family interaction problems. Youth & Family Recovery Services These services treat youth and their families regarding issues of alcohol and drug dependency and abuse. Treatment is provided through diagnostic assessment, outpatient, intensive outpatient (individual/group) and crisis intervention services. Staff members hold licensing in counseling as well as chemical dependency so that MHS can adequately treat the dual-diagnosed population. Youth Community Psychiatric Support Treatment (CPST) This coordination, linking, advocating and monitoring service develops and monitors a strong, well-integrated system of support for multi-need youth and their families.
7 Youth Challenges This community-based, partial-hospital program operates five days per week, treating youths (aged 5 to 18) that are struggling with more severe emotional problems. It is designed as an alternative to hospitalization, and helps keep families united in their community. Our multidisciplinary team approach includes individual, family and group therapy, as well as psychiatric assessment and pharmacological management.
