Minority Procurement Through Diverse Spending Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have long recognized the value of diversity. Their markets are global. It is reported that Jacques Nasser, former CEO of Ford Motor Company said, The inclusion of minority suppliers into our supply base contributes to long term economic, political and social stability of our industry by including important diverse customers in its economic activity. Ford, General Motors and Chrysler went on to develop a program with their suppliers to insure that minority procurement became a reality and dollars were dispersed to qualified diverse vendors. The purpose was to support stable minority suppliers, as well as, develop business growth of minority joint ventures. Ford encourages their 1st Tier suppliers to establish a goal of purchasing at least 6% of all goods and services from certified minority business enterprises and 2% from certified women owned business enterprises. Chrysler requires 10% minority spend, and 3% women owned spend. If you are a Tier I supplier, then these numbers are monitored on a quarterly basis. General Motors and Chrysler have similar programs, as well as, other corporations throughout the United States. Paul Venegas Moses Paul Venegas began his career in insurance over 40 years at the corporate level. He spent time as claims adjuster/senior supervisor and has adjusted claims for the City of Detroit, Ford Motor Company, and The Detroit Tigers. His expertise in property, casualty, liability and workers compensation is what makes him one of the premier consultants in the industry. As founding principal and co-owner of Goodman Venegas, Moses has helped guide and grow the company to become one of the leading insurance agencies in the nation.
Regina Goodman Following in the entrepreneurial footsteps of her great Grandfather, founder of the legendary Chris-Craft boats, Regina established Goodman Venegas Insurance Agency in 1997 with her partner, Moses Paul Venegas. Regina started her insurance career in the early 1980 s specializing in commercial insurance and achieved her Certified Insurance Counselors designation in 1995. Recognized as a leader in the insurance industry, Regina currently serves on the many insurance company counsels to affect policy and improve services for their agents and policyholders.
