Cafe Courier is an advertising and technology company, which brokers sales on behalf of restaurants and self-employed delivery & catering professionals. Cafe Courier advertises the menus of more than 100 restaurants in the State of Montana via print, television, online, and social media marketing. It also provides innovative technology, which facilitates online ordering and payment. Cafe Courier services more than 30 individual delivery professional clients. Hungry Eaters can go to cafecourier.com, choose their city and review all of the menu items and prices of the restaurants available in their area. Hungry Eaters can order food from any of the available restaurants directly through Cafe Courier's website or by calling Hungry Eaters can pay for their food order directly, online through Cafe Courier's payment technology. Hungry Eaters can place order for either Takeout or for Delivery Hungry Eaters selecting Takeout will head to the restaurant and pick up their food order at the exact time and date they specify. Hungry Eaters choosing instead to enjoy the convenience of delivery can hire a self-employed delivery or catering professional directly through Cafe Courier's website. Cafe Courier's revenues are 100% commission based and come directly from restaurant clients and delivery professional clients. The Hungry Eater is the source of ALL revenue, paying the restaurant for his food order and his delivery professional for the delivery. Cafe Courier simply attracts the Hungry Eater through its advertising efforts and provides the technology to allow for simple, convenient payment, coordinate the Hungry Eater's order between the restaurant and the delivery professional. - Restaurants pay Cafe Courier a percentage for each food sale Cafe Courier finds them. - Delivery Professional clients pay Cafe Courier a percentage of the delivery fee their customers pay them. These payments are remitted from the driver to Cafe Courier weekly by Delivery Drivers, Inc. seamlessly and electronically. Restaurant clients of Cafe Courier pay Cafe Courier a negotiated commission for each $1 worth of food that Café Courier sells on their behalf. This is a tremendous marketing opportunity for Café Courier s restaurant clients because it provides them with a pay for performance form of marketing. If Café Courier produces no results, the restaurant client owes them nothing. Delivery Professional clients of Cafe Courier pay Cafe Courier a negotiated brokerage (advertising) fee for each customer Cafe Courier procures for him or her. Like the arrangement with the restaurants, driver clients only pay when Café Courier produces a delivery job for them. - Delivery Drivers, Inc. will retrieve your escrowed income each week and remit to Cafe Courier, any and all fees owed by delivery professional. Cafe Courier charges its delivery professional clients a negotiable commission percentage from each job procured. Typically, this ranges from 10%-30%. Delivery Drivers, Inc. will remit commissions and itemize this expense on delivery professionals' accounting statements.
Delivery Drivers, Inc. (DDI) is a nationwide administrative service created specifically for the transportation professional. DDI provides accounting services, including but not limited to: income & expense itemizations, weekly settlement reconciliation, wire transfers (direct deposit), tax support and record keeping. DDI services more than 3000 delivery professional clients nationwide. DDI reconciles income and expenses for its clients weekly, by retrieving escrowed funds and remitting any and all negotiated expenses and fees. DDI produces a weekly accounting statement for its clients, showing itemized income and expenses. DDI wires all retrieved escrow funds to its clients on a weekly basis. DDI has several optional programs available to its clients from occupational accident insurance, entrepreneurial education programs, supplemental advertising resources, Motor Vehicle Report screening, income verifications, relocation referrals, etc. DDI's research and development teams consolidate all of the information its clients need to operate a formal business, which abides by the guidelines set by local, State and Federal authorities.
Economic Landscape The 21st century has seen an incredible boom in the area of technology, which has made for easy entry into the entrepreneurial world of running one's own business. The small business owner can outsource so many pieces of his/her business, making it easier and more efficient to service his/her customers. By hiring Cafe Courier to advertise a business to the general public and facilitate seamless payment options for its customers, the delivery professionals spend less time and money on generating and managing his revenues and more time on servicing his customers. Cafe Courier has several programs available delivery professionals. 1. Traditional Marketing Services Hire Cafe Courier! Delivery professionals can negotiate an affordable rate for your business, ranging from 30% to as low as 10% of the gross delivery fee each of your customers pay you. Provide Cafe Courier with your business's hours of operation. If your hours of operation are or will be permanent (unchanging) you may provide those upon hiring Cafe Courier. Please note, if your business hours change for any reason, you can provide your new hours of operation any time. Log into the Cafe Courier technology portal when your business opens and begin receiving customer offers. Each time a customer requests to hire you, you will have the ability to ACCEPT or DECLINE that customer. You may decline any customer for any reason and are not required to disclose to Cafe Courier the reason(s) you may decline customers. By accepting a customer you will agree to service that customer for a delivery fee. (Most of your customers will pay you a gratuity in addition to your delivery fee. The gratuity generally exceeds the amount of the delivery fee.) Service includes retrieving your customer's food order from the selected restaurant, ensuring all items your customer purchased from the restaurant are present and delivering your customer's items to your customer's selected location. *Your customers may ask you to simply "hand over" their food items. For large orders, typically for catering events - meetings, parties, etc. your customers may request that you set their food up in a specific, yet simple manner. Cafe Courier simply brokers the sale and will NOT provide you with any instructions on how you are to operate your business or service your customers. 2. Optional Marketing Program Cafe Courier's delivery professional clients have the option of participating in a marketing program, intended to drive more customers to Cafe Courier's service. While there is no requirement to wear any Cafe Courier apparel, clients who choose to do so can negotiate lower rates with Cafe Courier for its traditional marketing services. Additional co-branding practices include the optional use of Cafe Courier branded car signs and menu/flyer distribution. Individuals, whether clients of Cafe Courier's traditional marketing services, or not, may enter into agreements with Cafe Courier to provide other marketing services. Inquire within.
CAFE COURIER - FAQs Q: What equipment do I need to operate my delivery business? A: To efficiently run a profitable delivery business, you will need a vehicle. We recommend our clients use a gas efficient vehicle with adequate space to transport up to 100 LBs of restaurant food. You will need a smart phone or tablet to interact with Cafe Courier's software. Additionally, delivery professionals should have delivery bags, including pizza bags, large catering bags, both for warm items and coolers to store and transport cold items. Equipment Options 1. You may purchase any and all equipment you need for your business through the vendor of your choice. Reputable delivery equipment vendors include: RTG Custom - TCB Cafe Courier may have used delivery bags available for purchase. You may also choose to enter into a lease agreement with Cafe Courier, whereby you can lease the items you need for your business for as low as $1.00 per day/$7.00 per week until you are prepared to make a larger investment. Q: Do I have to wear a Cafe Courier uniform? A: There is no requirement to wear a Cafe Courier Uniform. Cafe Courier apparel is available to you if you're uneasy about your customers' potential security concerns and would like to be recognized when you enter your customers' locations. Additionally, Cafe Courier will negotiate a lower rate to your business, lowering your expenses and increasing your profitability, if you agree to wear Cafe Courier apparel, which does provide marketing value to both of our businesses. Q: How does my schedule work? A: As Cafe Courier clients, restaurants determine their own hours of operation and simply provide the days and times their food is available to be purchased and prepared. Likewise, as a client of Cafe Courier, you provide us the days and times you are operating your business and available to receive brokered delivery job offers. The vast majority of your customers will request your services at lunch (11am-2pm) and dinner (5pm-10pm). However, you are free to operate your business, including determining your hours, however you'd like. Q: I am a self employed driver considering hiring Café Courier. How does Cafe Courier offer me jobs? A: Café Courier's state of the art logistics software offers its clients' jobs. The software initially works on a first come, first serve basis. Clients who make themselves available, or check-in to the software before other clients will receive priority on the first delivery job offer. Often times during peak delivery hours (11a-2p and 5p-9p) multiple jobs will enter the system at the same time. When this occurs, the software automatically highlights the client who is closest to an individual job's location and the job will be offered to that client. This helps clients lower their expenses on gas as well as assisting them in creating efficiencies for their business. Q: Can I decline a specific job that Café Courier offers me? A: Of course! You own and control your business, so you can choose to operate however you please! Q: Can I hire my own employees? A: Your business is your business. You are free to hire or subcontract to whomever you'd like.
DDI - FAQs Q: Since DDI provides accounting services, does it file my taxes for me? A: No. DDI provides bookkeeping services, itemizing expenses and income for its clients. DDI will produce weekly, quarterly and annual accounting summaries, including profit and loss statements for you. DDI will not have an accurate record of your cash-based income, which makes up a significant portion of your overall revenues. DDI will provide a record of every dollar it itemized for you, the specific tax forms you will need to file your taxes (1040, Schedule C, Schedule SE) and instructions on how to complete those forms accurately and correctly. Additionally, DDI has a team of bookkeepers and accounting personnel available M-F to answer any questions you may have. Q: What insurance program(s) do you have available? A: Currently, DDI has access to an Occupational Accident Injury Insurance policy, which you may choose to purchase through your affiliation with DDI. For $5.99 per week, you will receive up to $250,000 in coverage for any injuries you sustain on the job. The insurance policy will not replace lost income but will cover your medical expenses. For more information, call DDI's insurance department. Q: What are the types of things I am liable for when operating my business? A: You are liable and responsible for all of your own business expenses. This includes your vehicle - gas, maintenance, insurance, etc. You are responsible for providing all of your own equipment. You are 100% liable for any misc. mistakes - damaged food, equipment, auto-accidents, personal injuries, etc. Q: What do I need to formalize my business in Montana? A: The State of Montana's DOL has very specific rules and policies for individuals operating their own business. If you currently operate your business under an LLC or S-Corp/C-Corp or posses a valid Independent Contractor Exemption Certificate specific to the field of transportation and/or delivery services, you should be fine. If you have none of these, you may need to acquire one in order to comply with Montana regulatory requirements. Links: Interested in forming an LLC or Corp? Interested in applying for an ICEC? As part of the administrative services DDI provides its clients, we can answer any questions you have about your options. Q: Can DDI obtain an ICEC on my behalf? A: No. DDI will only provide its clients with the necessary information they need to meet local, State and Federal requirements. Q: Can DDI help me with my business if I move? A: Yes! DDI has relationships with Advertising & Tech companies all over the country. Let us know where you're moving and we can refer you to a new vendor, which can provide brokerage services for your business.
